Thinking of buying an intellimouse, anything I need to know?

Thread Starter
So, been hearing the legend behind this mouse, and I defieneetely wanna pick one up, but have some questions.

1. I have found this, and this, on Amazon, are these genuine or knockoffs?

2. What's the LOD like? and any mouse feet you can recommend for a Glorious XL Heavy?

3. The polling rate, how easy is it to adjust? I heard about Sweetlow's software but that's it.

4. Anything else important that I need to know about this mouse before I buy? The dimensions seem good to me, it'll fit my hand just fine.

1. Probably genuine, but if you want a genuine one for sure then you can get a boxed Legends, they're usually pretty costly.
2. You can get hyperglides for it, the defaults are trash iirc but I can't speak about LOD.
3. It's locked to 125Hz w/o SweetLow's driver unless you have a Fatal1ty port.
4. If you buy on eBay there was a guide to not getting scammed around somewhere that talked about serial numbers, how the USB connector should look, what it should say when you connect the mouse, etc.

All I can say is be careful buying stuff off Amazon when it comes to items that commonly get knocked-off. Not going to say you're going to get ripped for sure, but the amount of knock-off and fakes are crazy. I had no idea until recently that it's extremely easy to end up with a fake mouse or mousepad. They don't regulate a thing over there. Don't make the same silly mistake I did and order the cheapest one you find tongue.gif

When you plug it in it should actually show a picture of it. The LOD is pretty standard. Buying used is a good way to ensure it is real. You need to run in test mode to use SweetLow's driver.

Amazon should sell genuine intellimouse 3.0s. Like the poster above me said you can get boxed intellimouse legends which is very worth it IMO. TBH it's pretty hard to get a fake intellimouse now a days unless you buy from a VERY shady seller.

Mouse feet on most intellimouse are TERRIBLE, especially the legends. The best mouse feet for them are the ones from takasta. You can check out his ebay store.

I got my IME 3.0 off of eBay for $20 and it was legit, so I'm sure you can get a boxed Legends there as well.

There was a seller on ebay that sold legends 3.0 legit brand new for a fairly fair price. It was up for a good year but they took it down now, probably ran out of stock. I"m fairly certain you can buy it brand new off aliexpress.

Aliexpress is not a good place to buy a mouse (or anything else).
