So is Polaris 11 thought to be the replacement for the Fury X? All this rumor stuff gets confusing.

However big Polaris 11 die is, I'm betting they'll put out something bigger a year or so later, so I would say it's a Hawaii replacement.

Performance wise it will be superior to Fiji ,rendering it obsolete.

I think AMD should do what Nvidia does.

Launch the 2ndGen Fury X2, ie new fury replacement dual card along with say a 2nd gen Fury replacement, 390, 380 etc
Then in 8-12 month, start releasing the intermediate cards (2nd Gen Fury X, 390X, 380X etc). That way you get $$$ from a good number of the same consumers, who dont quite want the (2Fury X)X 2 or however the hell they are going to name it thinking.gif but will get the 2Fury, then replace it with the 2Fury X when its released.
In the same way, the elites will get the (2Fury X) X2 at $1500 on launch.

I don't get wrapped up in die sizes, I just meant that Polaris 11 will be the new flagship. I know they showed off a lower power chip recently but I wasn't sure if this is one of those or a flagship.

Polaris 10 and Polaris 11. My guess is they will address the segments they are weakest now . USD 150-200 with Polaris 10 (1024 sp, 128 bit GDDR5, 2/4 GB ). Polaris 11 (4096 sp, 8 GB) will be the flagship with HBM2 which will come at the top. AMD will wait for production volumes to improve to bring in mid-range Polaris (2048 sp) sometime in early 2017. My guess is Polaris 10 is 14LPP based and Polaris 11 is 16FF+ based as TSMC has better experience with large GPUs (300+ sq mm) and have better yields.

This plus AMD is filling in the bottom end market with APU the likes of which nobody is able to compete with. That there is a serious market and a serious amount of experience and patents to be holding onto. So it'll become "do I get an expensive intel and a pointless low end nV card or just buy an AM4 and save money for excellent performance". We're gonna see massive increases in single-chip gaming computers and if the new Wii is waiting for a Zen-Vega chip it is going to hit PS and XB so hard the daisies over Sega's grave will explode.
