Have you try to put everything back together, including the glue and then start an RMA with Intel?

Is this even legal? Isn't it cheating? Do I get in trouble if I try RMA and they find out?

I doubt it as they will examine for physical damage and I doubt they will open up the IHS to see if it's damaged inside. Worst thing can happen to you is you wasted maybe $5 on shipping if they found you did to your CPU by voiding your RMA so you have nothing to lose. thumb.gif

I broke off a controller chip off the back of the CPU when De-lidding a 3570k when they first came out. Took me ages to realize. Might want to look there.

Just buy a new one. Not smart to try and delid if you can't afford to just straight up replace it if you mess up.
