Dual boot, cloning or??

So I have an old laptop running Windows 7, and it's not quite cutting it anymore performance-wise. I'm buying a new one but I have a problem. The old laptop has a lot of expensive software installed on it and I don't have the install discs for them. Is there a way to transfer all of them to my new computer? If I were to clone the old drive would I be able to boot the new computer from it (assuming I'll need drivers etc.)? Set up a dualboot somehow? I only use the software once in a while if that makes a difference.

Well there's more than 20 different programs. They're for heavy duty truck diagnostics and diesel engine programming. Cat ET, Cummins Insite, International DLB, Servicemaxx, etc. I've read some stuff about virtual drives/machines. Would that work?
