right now i am rma one of my amd cards what i want to do is selling both cards and get one 980 ti. then later down the line get another 980 ti. so far the 980 ti looks great but should i really go to the 980 ti.

please if you can what are the pros and cons of the 980 ti vs the r9 290x?

Why not just wait to see what next gen cards have to offer? IMO whenever I plan to buy a card now and then SLI/Xfire it later I never do it, I end up buying a different card because new cards come out that are better options.

If with the FX, you'd be better with a single 980Ti. Have you checked your cpu usages with single and dual 290X?

yes everything is fine when it comes to two gpus on this cpu. cpu usage goes from 1% to around 55% that is with both 1 card by its self and with both cards running. bf4 at ultra with 200% scaling one card gives me from 45 to 75 fps, both cards bring me from 45 to 175 fps. my cpu is not bottlenecking my gpus.

BF4? Using Fraps? Are those numbers with Mantle?

See, you have to observe the minimum. Also, do not mix apps like fraps and Afterburner.

EDit: checkout Methadon. An i5 is better off with a single 980Ti than 2 290Xs. I cannot turn off HT on my i7 with 2 290s.

Use Afterburner to monitor usages like so . . .

If you can. Crimson seems to conflict with AB when i tried it playing Skyrim. Also, don't use FRAPS with Mantle enabled. Last, 200% rez scale is like 4K. You gotto lower other settings like go down to medium and no aa. You going to hit the vram limit.

Cool. I just want to make sure that Fraps was not the culprit. I would still say that a single 980 Ti is better for your system than 2 290Xs. Just one. My i7 Sandy has seen its limit - 2 290s. No more. I don't thing it can handle anymore than two. Even more so two 980 Tis. No way.
