Can't get sound to record when using different game capture software

I'm looking to record some of my gameplay from cs go. I've tried fraps and overwolf and both have the same problem. They can record my mic but not in game sound. I've messed with the settings in both overwolf and fraps and have had no luck getting the in game sound to show up. I'm thinking it might be some kind of setting with my sound card from asus but I'm not sure what or how to fix it. I'm using windows 10 64bit btw.

I'm not sure how to do what I'm going to tell you to do in Windows 10, but in Windows 7, you would do this:

  1. Right-click the speaker icon
  2. Choose "Recording devices"
  3. Make "Stereo Mix" the default (or whatever yours would be called... mine is "What U Hear" because I have a Creative card)

If this doesn't work, then I won't be able to help any further because to be completely honest, I'm having the same problem even though I did these steps.

It's a computer!
