THE END
Did you even try the setting? rolleyes.gif

6/11 EPP on at slow speed is literally dropping counts e.g. the same as dropping below 6/11.
6/11 EPP off at slow speed is one count one pixel movement.

Exactly what EPP does and what it is used for: slow movement drops the sensitivity/counts registered to cursor movement while allowing the user to still be able to move fast across the workspace.

Not hard to understand.

> So no, technically, it is not enhancing precision, but enhancing convenience.
This is actually a good description. Precision itself is a bad term for this since that could be gained via manually dropping the sensitivity but that would remove convenience.

Also, EPP on is bad for games. There are better alternatives so if you argue that EPP works well for gaming, you're wrong. It's only somewhat useful in desktop environment.

Slow movement actually makes it drop counts? Hahaha that just makes this even better.

Okay my bad, so there is some negative acceleration enabled in EPP. I admit that's effectively the same as negative accel.

But lmao

hahaha

okay get this: This is what pro-EPP people expect us to be doing:

There's an thing we need to click on fast: Say I'm playing a game and I need to aim at someones head. Or quickly flick to click at a point to forexample target an ability at ground:
They're expecting people to first do the flick, but only at moderate speed so that acceleration doesn't kick in too much, and then slowly move the mouse so that the negative acceleration kicks in so that we get the "precision" back.

HAHAHA I hahahaha oh my god. This is OCN where people give **** to mouse manufacturers for making mice that takes 15milliseconds to register. And here's these people expecting us to use 500milliseconds to slowly move the mouse so that the negative accel kicks in for us to get that optimal pointer precision before we even click.

Oh god I'm in tears
had to edit to fix formatting Im laughing so much I didnt even pay attention

This is now really getting out of hand. If you can reliably point at the pixel you want with EPP, then that's great for you. If not (like myself), then that's also great. So why all the arguing?

Read what I added before you posted that nonsense. I never personally said EPP is useful for gaming. It's only good for precise work with convinience at Windows environment in typical office scenarios.

Aren't you the guy who said sens 2@400 CPI is way too slow? I wouldn't talk like that if I were you thumb.gif

Of course i tried it.
All it does what i notice is, that it's very jittery at slow speeds, but not slower than EPP off.

BTW, in Win 10 they name it now something like "enhanced cursor acceleration"

It is slower than EPP off. Check with mousemovementrecorder and see the 0x0 counts yourself. Sigh... Try the same with 800-1000 CPI where the current office mice are typically locked at. At 1000 (or even 800) CPI @1080p EPP off, it is literally impossible for me to draw anything precisely while with EPP it's quite easy. I don't use EPP myself as I am fine with 400 or even lower CPI in desktop and bring my own mouse every time I do work somewhere else. Some people think 400 CPI at desktop is very slow but as 1000 CPI is so sensitive, it's hard to do precise work for them... why is it so hard to understand that in those situations EPP works fine?

you can see on my pic, how precisely i can draw in paint with 800DPI, and that is very imprecise with EPP on.
But now that i think of, i guess they always called it "beschleunigung=acceleration" in german windows.

The lovely "it doesn't help me, therefore it's useless" argument.
Well, maybe you used that "1:1" registry tweak at some point. Did you?

if i would have, then there wouldn't be a difference between EPP on/off.
And the argument i made was, that it's inprecise, which i proved with the paint drawings.
