Everyone seem to be under the misconception that CLC AIO coolers are better the air cooler and this is simply not true.
CLC AIO coolers have become overhyped and overrated to a point that everyone seems to think its the only option they have.

Many air coolers are better and more quiet as well as way more reliable for a lower price then an AIO cooler which means air cooler is more often then not the better option.
CLC AIO coolers have become a fasion gimmick and its due to all the marketing hype everyone falls for.

So no stay away from CLC AIO coolers there are much better options that are better cheaper more quiet and more reliable.
There are some rare cases where its better to go CLC AIO and thats in small cases with little to no room and/or limited airflow for big air coolers.

They do have a place in a build if you like the aesthetics, however.

Depends on your taste as i really dont like how the rad tubes and pump looks like on any AIO out there.
But yes most seem to think it looks better.

But i am one of those that go after performance first and looks second.
Think there should be more that thinks the same way.

I am also really tired of people that say you should stay away from Noctua fans and coolers because they are ugly.

I got a sweet deal on the h110 I'm using on my 6700k or else it would be back under one of my D14s.

Price:performance favors big air most of the time, but CLCs have their place.

After 6 dead CLC AIO coolers i am done and i am never touching another one.
3 dead of my own and 3 dead in 2 systems i have made for family members.

Then there where the price the noise and the performance in which none of the 6 where very good.
Nope i am forever done with those fasion gimmick coolers.

noctua fans are the best ive ever seen. so quiet even at their maximum rpm.
also their color is nice too.

Nope i am forever done with those fasion gimmick coolers.

I've had pretty good luck with mine, I have about a dozen of them in service. I've had one failure - h-60 after about 3 years of use. The first one I bought amazed me - an h-60 that would cool a 2600k priming at 5 ghz. Upon reflection , a good deal of the credit goes to a very good cpu, however that cooler is 6 + years old and gets about 8 hours use every day - stilly cranking along smile.gif.
The last one I bought is an H-100i GTX and it's a vast improvement over the older ones I have, It cools effectively without being loud.
Conversely , the first large air cooler I had , ended up breaking something in the socket area - I feel the same way about big air as you do about clc's.
