120mm Radiator Fans under $10

Thread Starter
I just want to bounce this off you guys. Sure, GT's and Vardars are very nice, but I want to spend half that. I've looked long and hard. Is there anything better than Koolance 120mm 25mm fans at this price? The specs Koolance publish are, well, unbelievable.

Daz seemed to like them.

They look nice, so I wouldn't think that anything would be better than one for under $10.

The AFB1212LE is very good for ~$11:

Yate Loons are OK and undervolt better than Deltas. I have no idea how they compare to Koolance fans. Stick with the 25mm ones though, I have the 38mm D12SL-12D and it's nothing special.

the only bad thing about yates is the fact they are sleeve bearing and will start making noises. it may take a year or may take a month but it will make noise.

*EDIT*
yeah, when mounted horizontally.

Those XSPC ones seem like a great value, and of course Yate Loons as well.

I have 1800 RPM 110 CFM Scythe Slipsteams now. They're well past their Life Cycle, need constant lubrication, and I think Static Pressure is lower especially at low RPM.

That seems like a commonality in these cheaper fans. High dropoff in sp at lower RPM.

It takes 2600 rpm for the Koolance to move as much air as my SS's do at 1800 rpm. Interesting.

I have a pair of YL D12SM-12's and they work very well on rads but are so so for pure airflow.
Though make sure you put a couple drops of oil in them every month or they'll start sounding like a blender. tongue.gif

Arctic F12s
Thread Starter
At first I was pretty excited that they were PWM fans, but I couldn't find hardly anything about static pressure and found this review
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/display/120mm-fan-roundup-1_2.html

Got scared, then I saw this one
http://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/arctic_cooling_f12_pro_fan_review,6.html

Are they really only mountable 1 way? So push/pull is a no go?

Those are, but Arctic's other fans can be mounted either way.

Doesn't Martin like those Arctic fans? I can't find the post, but I'm pretty sure he tried them and (subjectively) thought they were good for the price.
