My pain in the behind build

Thread Starter
hey guys i posted this in the wrong place so im reposting here now. Im new sorry if i do something wrong.

I was planning on a budget friendly liquid cooling build but costs got a little bit out of control. but in the end i was pretty happy with the results. i hope you like

some specs:
I7 4790k
asus maximus hero vii
H1000i Psu
32gb vengence ram
evga 980ti
samsung 250gb pro ssd

Cooling:
ek titan x acetyl block
ek supremacy evo
eK block for asus maximus
ek 250 res
ek x top vario plexi pump D5
ek 360 slim rad
ek 240 non slim rad
14x primochill revolver fittigns
10x bitspower 90 degree fittings
bunch of other fitttings
3x Coolmaster Riing rgb fans
3x corsair sp 120 fans
PETG tubes
ek blood red coolant

Case and lighting:
INWIN 909
NZXT hue+

I definitely got lucky here with the heights of the fittings the risers i had happened to make the mobo cooler and the evo line up perfectly.

here is the first fit for most of the hardware. i love how the pump and res lined up. I actually took this idea from a few other 909 builds i had seen online and i really like how they did it. Credit to whoever it was sorry i dont remember their name.

my bends are definitely not spot on but for a first time hadline bender i think i did okay. I will probably redo in the future.

a better look

i leak tested the system with distilled water and had to drain ( to this point i had no drain put in so that was a major pain that i will talk about later )

The final result. it looks better in person the tinted window makes it really hard to take pics ill try to take better pics.

Lessons learned- DO NOT PUT OFF PUTTING IN A DRAIN i bought a drain a few weeks after filling and tried to install it witout draining and had a MAJOR spill. save yourself some headache and put in the drain from the begining.

That's a heck of a lot of power for such a small system.
The finished product does look good. The pipes came out nicely I think. And all the lighting looks good.

yeah no kidding i did soft tubes before and it came out way cheaper. Hardline needs so much more fittings it broke my budget

Thanks, i bought another titan x block but could not stomach buying another 980ti... maybe after pascal comes out and hopefully prices go down. yeah the pipes are not too bad i think it came together well.

Wow you've came a long way, I've been using soft tubes from the start of my build.
I've never thought of changing to hard tubes, because it would be really hard to modify stuff after its installed.

For this much effort put in, going soft tubes and changing to hard tubes, even when it means breaking the budget.
I rekon you deserive +REP biggrin.gif

thank you sir. Yeah i wish i took more pictures but this build has been a true grind from the beginning . i have had 2 spills ( blood red spill is no fun ) one of which drenched my mobo and psu. Thankfully nothing was lost i spent 2 days just blowdrying everything.

I have some exprinces will spills and even a gpu soaked in water for a whole night.

Heres my suggestion, if it happens again biggrin.gif
If its just a small spill, drying it fully with tissues and stuff should work instantly.
Then operate the system with supervision,

If it crahses. Then banking it in the oven for 1 -2 hours at 40-50 Celcius should recive the parts

I know baking my gpu soaked in water had recived it, I had dried it up fully.
and a hour or two after installing my sytem. I had booted and after 30-60minutes GPU stopped working.

Did the baking process and good to go thumb.gif

I agree with your method I do not personally like the oven method, However when using dyed fluids as you said you are I would suggest cleaning the spill with rubbing alcohol. As when that fluid drys it could leave spots that are conductive so make sure all the gunk is gone.
