If the cryorig wire is that much hassle you could replace it?

Am I right in thinking that by 'replace it', that would require completely removing it at the hub and soldering (?) on new wire? I think that would be more of a hassle than trying to strip and crimp the really thin wire.

More and more I am starting to really like the Noiseblocker approach ... their fans come with a 1" cable and some extension cables of different lengths.

Yes that is exactly what I meant biggrin.gif like from an old fan.

Yeh that is a seriously good idea from noise blocker!

Hey Mr Ruffhi,

Did you get that 2nd HWL rad flushed and ready?

Doing mine today, soaking with Blitz Part One for 6hours, using some short tubing runs so as not to spill any acid solution on the outside of the rads, able to do the pouring with funnel far away from the rads, also able to see when the rads are full with an easy visual, the outlet tubing filling up a few inches vertically.

When the 6hours is up, I'll flush with warm water low pressure from the mains for 30minutes each direction and use a catch bowl for any particles that may collect, will take some pics of whatever comes out of these new rads and let you have a look.

Oh, by the way, found out the stock Delrin plugs that arrive with the Multiport rads IS reactive with the Mayhems acid, it will melt and clog the thin radiator tubing, so instead picked up (6) very inexpensive XSPC nickel stop plugs $1.49 each, did not want to use the good Bitzpower plugs going in the build for the acid bath.

Got a few hours left to go. smile.gif

Not yet. Plenty of time to skin that cat.

Excellent. Please let me know how you get on and what you flush out.

I think I made a mistake in one of my orders.

I ordered these ... Barrow G1/4" Thread 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD Compression Fitting Water Cooling THKN-3/8-B03 ... 8 of them to be exact. The plan was to use them to run soft tube into and around my two pumps.

I also ordered this ... PrimoFlex Advanced LRT Tubing - 3/8in. ID X 1/2in. OD - Elegant White to be the tubing.

Do you see my problem? The outside diameter of the fittings is 1/2" and the inside diameter of the tubing is 3/8". Duh.

So ... I either need to get some smaller fittings with an outside diameter of 3/8" ... something like this ... yuk, yuk, 1000 x yuk.

Or ... I need to get some larger tubing. That would be ID of 1/2" and on OD of 3/4"?

Is this right? I have some 1/2" x 3/4" tubing ... with some ... wait ... let me check my order ...

ModMyMods 1/2" ID x 3/4" OD Flexible PVC Tubing - Crystal Clear (MOD-0004)

... right ... exactly the same dimensions ... and those fittings and that tubing fit together well. I just tried the Barrow G1/4" Thread 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD compression fitting and it is way too small for that tubing.

What is going on? Is it just a matter of mashing the tubing onto the compression fitting? Can someone please set me straight on this?

Nope that's not right, the specified fitting size is the same thing as the tubing size. Even the description of the link you posted for the fittings states, "Compatible with 3/8"ID x 1/2"OD Tubing." You should be good.

Excellent. Thanks for the reply. I'll break out the hot water and use that to help get the tubing on the fittings.

I bet it's because the Barrow fittings were manufactured with metric measurements, so the ID is probably 10mm instead of 9.525, which is what 3/8in would convert to. Primochill uses imperial specs, so the inner diameter will be smaller than the one on the fittings. That's why it's snug.

Good point. I can test that.
