[Build Log] Liquorice Allsorts: CaseLabs S5 + Pedestal - Page 35

Everything is back in the case with the case sitting on the pedestal. I am running some PSU only power up tests (no motherboard). Fans are working, pumps are working (if I have my manual switch on) but the flow is non existant. I have tried tilting the case left, right, up, down ... nothing helps get the flow going. I must have a giant air bubble somewhere.

This morning I drained about 100ml from the loop and fired up the pumps ... flow ... lots of it! I topped the reservoir back up and will move on to actually turning the PC on.

I've got my PC back up and running ... under air. It seems strange to be bleeding a loop of air that doesn't even get used. I meant to take a picture ... but I was too quick removing the Cryorig cooler and subbing the Heatkiller block in its place.

First time booting up I got a CPU fan warning (I hadn't plugged anything into the CPU fan socket) ... it only took me two reboots to get past that issue. Temps are ...

- idle 27°
- air 25°
- when folding ... 45° (with fans at 400rpms)

Flow is down from 1gpm to 0.8gpm with the pump at a touch under 2600rpm (and very quiet once you get the air out of the loop).

I've been busy setting up my aquasuite stuff ... should have that pretty much squared away by the end of next week.

Another question for my audience ... I have been thinking about putting a decal on the side of the case (not the pedestal). One of the themes running through this build has been the hex grids that CaseLabs uses. You will start to see that popping up more and more on the finishing touches.

Anyway, the decal arrived today ... here is a picture ... you will have to imagine the window portion of the decal cut out and the hex grid stopping at the sides and window.

I used the 'free' window portion for some other stuff that I may or may not use.

Just in case you have forgotten what a stock side looks like ... (Click to show)

Good idea.

Imo it's appropriate using the hex theme, and it will add some pizazz to the otherwise plain case side.
The logos for CaseLabs and Licquorice Allsorts pop nicely as well.

I am a little concerned that it might be *too much*. I might try mock up something smaller and see what that looks like.

I like how the CaseLabs versions turned out ... except that I think I need to rotate the grid pattern by 60°.

I think I have finished. Well ... so close that it isn't funny. I have to peal off the covers from two (2) more windows, carry it outside to take some pictures and then set it up in my study and port over my current PC contents, set up, etc.

I should have a full set of pictures early next week tomorrow.

Final Pictures

I am declaring this build done. There might be some items that get revisited (ie GPU, tubing to / from CPU, 25-pin extension) but that will occur later. Maybe much later.

Picture Dump ...

Thanks AllGamer. I got better at cutting after a while ... and I am looking forward to going back and trying my hand at the bending.

The vortex is no more frown.gif. I put one of the Monsoon anti-vortex tridents in the middle bit and it killed it off. I have left an air gap at the top of the reservoir so I have a visual indication of flow.

Very clean and different (in a good way) build! Like how there are lots of different colors involved, yellow RAM heatspreaders work well too. Like the GT 710 sitting there in the window, seems to be saying "don't forget about me!" thumb.gif
