Clicking sound during boot up.

I want to run some history of what i have did. My best friend gave me this rig so im not sure of all the specs but i put what i know in my rig build, the only thing i added to it was the 2x8 ram and a 2tb hard drive because i was having a blue screen of death not sure on the error code but i replaced my hard drive and was trying to look at the cmos to slave the old 500gb that came with the computer. In doing this found out that the cmos was locked i tried to contact my buddy but he didn't build the computer either, he had a buddy of his build it so he doesn't know the password or any of the components inside of it. So i just decided to clear my cmos and i downloaded my motherboards manual to make sure i was doing it right. And yes i know to touch any metal before handling components to get rid of static. After doing so the computer boots up to the bios and i can get into the cmos and now it has a loud clicking sound before it leaves the bios while loading everything. Then it tries to run the operating system and while doing it clicks a lot until it says an error has occurred. then it tells me to hit ctrl+alt+delete to reboot which it will cycle through it again. The only way i know how to get it to boot up is by turning the Comp. on as the bios boots up i still hear clicking and i spam F12 which is my boot order. Then i click hard drive and i click my 2TB HardDrive and it boots up normal after that no more clicking. Both hard drives have an OS on them but i have it setup in cmos to boot my hard drive 1st and none for 2nd or 3rd. And i have also choose to boot my 2TB which is my new hard drive instead of my old 500GB which i believe was causing the blue screen.

Now my question is why with all the error clicking is it because i have both hard drives plugged in, Maybe im missing somthing in the cmos because ive never really messed with the cmos before. All i did in the cmos was disable logo boot.

To me that sounds like a hard drive issue. The HDD is one of the only things in there that would "click" unless the PSU is having a problem. But it sounds like a HDD issue.
May want to back everything up onto separate drives just in case. Or just pull the 500 Gb out and see if it still clicks. I'd be willing to bet that's the bad drive since it came with the PC and is probably old.

Well I ended up noticing that my dvd drive was not showing up in my computer in windows but it was showing up as a slave to my 2 TB HDD and Both hard drives were masters so i just swaped the dvd drive and the old hard drives sata slot on the mother board so that the 500 is slave to the 2 TB and the dvd player is master with no slave no more clicking i dont know why but just glad that it is working properly so now i can move into actually overclocking. Thanks
