Hi all,

I don't have a lot experience is this and I would like to build a really good gaming PC to play all latest games on ultra(max) settings.

Can spend upto £1500.

This is what I have in mind:

CPU: Intel Core i7-5930K 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI X99A SLI PLUS ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card
Wi-Fi Adapter:TP-Link TL-WDN4800 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Case:Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case

I have my hard drives so don't need to buy any of them, the main one is SSD.
Also I'll be using my sound card with this ASUS Xonar D2X Audio as well.

So questions:

1. I have 3 monitors which I'll be using but they have DVI/VGA ports only
so I guess I will need to buy 2 DVI to Display Port adapter. Won't these adapter low the picture quility by any chance?

2. How is the build? any advises? Any compatibility issues you can see?

3. The motherboard supports eight DDR4 DIMMs 2133/2200(OC)/2400(OC)/2600(OC)/2666(OC)/2750(OC)/3000(OC)/3110(OC)/3333(OC) MHz, up to 128GB Max.
DOest it mean it doesn't support my 3200 RAM? or it does because higher speed is in the list( 3333 ) ?

Thanks for all your replies

Sory but the PSU you picked is not something you want and you need to spend a lot more on the PSU then that to get something decent.
Why you should not buy an EVGA SuperNova NEX750B (aka B1)

Also note that the RAM you picked might not work with the CPU you picked as its not a X99´s that can work with RAM faster then 2666 MHz.
So get some cheaper RAM and spend a lot more on the PSU.

Last the cooler you picked is not all that great either its okey but if you are going to overclock you want a better cooler.
You can also drop down to a 5820K instead as that will save you enough money for better cooler and PSU.

no, i dont think so.

IMHO save up on the CPU architecture (4690k or 6600k), half the ram quantity and buy another 980 ti instead.
and get a better cpu cooler geez. the 212 needs to disappear from high-end gaming builds suggestions/lists

It's fine, there is a higher listed value, not a problem with skylake btw

edit: pls guys stahp repeating what i say, maybe quote me and add details or something

My two cents:

You don't need a 5930k or even a 5820k if the machine is just going to be used for gaming. Especially if you plan on overclocking the CPU.

For gaming, core frequency (speed) is king, not necessarily core count. You would be fine with a i5-6600k, i7-6700k, or even a i5-4690k or i7-4790k. Basically, you could get a cheaper motherboard, RAM and CPU by going with a different platform (Z97 or Z170) and spend the extra money on another graphics card. (two 980s instead of one 980ti? I dunno.)

I wouldn't bother with X99/5820k for gaming, it will probably overclock less, have less IPC and worse single thread compared to a Skylake i7.

What do you mean? do I need to look for like 1000W one?

I'll double check, thanks a lot

is something like this Corsair H110i GTX 104.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler will be better?

You can play all the latest games at 1080p Ultra, and in some cases you might have a hard time keeping up above 60 fps. What you're asking for is a fools errand because you stated "all the latest games" and simply put, it's not going to happen for that budget.

I don't think I can save up that much to be able to efford another £500 video card in any way. will think about another CPU cooler, thanks

you really do need to get rid of that 212 cooler, look for NH-D14/15/15s

The NEX PSU is terrible so if you already own it you should get rid of it.
You dont need more wattage you need better quality.

Maybe if you gonna do a sli of 980 ti/future GPUs
IMHO what he meant is : don't go cheap/bad on the PSU, that's the worst component to save on : if any problem happens, all your other components might get toasted too.

oh no you pronounced the A I O word, GET COVER !!!
tl:dr not more performant/quiet/cost-effective.

well I will also use it to surf the Internet, watch youtube videos etc but I guess a good gaming PC covers all that easily ?

If that's what your using your PC for get an i5 4670k with a z97 motherboard. Will save you a ton and than ddr3 ram you can get 8gb for 40-50. Than with the extra I'd buy say a ek predator cpu Cooler or h110. You will literally get the same performance as you would with what you originally had but at 300 use less. If put the extra savings and get a Phanteks enthoo luxe (40 more than the pro). For a psu just go with a cooler master v1000 (can snag one for 100 ish) it will allow you to sli in the future of you choose to. But end of the day it's up to you. X99 man benefit in my eyes is for multi Gpus because of the pci lane speed and it renders slightly better. But actually performs as well sometimes less than what I listed above. As for Sufi g the web and such. All that will be fast based off your internet speed and Ssd (for fast boot and apps)

Thanks for all your replies of course but I've got headache now with all your advises.
I thought my build is good enough and will need only a few corrections like a different CPU cooled which makes sense as it is not a good one.

About the rest, let me to try and make myself a bit more clearer.

I would like to build a good gaming PC and just don't worry about it for at least 3-4 years this is why I consider to spend quite a bit and to get I7 6 core processor with at least 3.5 GHz speed, latst DDR4 RAM 16GB not less and a decent graphic card.

Isn't i7 processor I my looking at better than i5 , DDR4 memory better then DDR3 in a longer run?

Do I make sense?

For £1,500, you should be able to go for a i7 6700K + 980ti, 16GB DDR4, and decent overall components. For PSU, get a Gold unit, 650W or more, they are relatively affordable nowadays, and more trustworthy than Bronze (which could be of any make).

SSD, I go with Samsung (non pro), or Crucial usually. speed differences will be marginal, reliability quite important. 256GB or 512GB, to put a few games on it, as well as OS.

80 plus has nothing to do with quality of any kind and there are lots of stuff that is gold rated and junk.
So sory but no thats not good advice.

All of those brands and OEM´s have and have had bad stuff as well.
You cant go by brand or series its pretty much down to each and every model.

Its not unheard of for a lower wattage model to be much worse then a higher wattage model or vice versa within the same series.
So no you cant go by 80 plus by brand by OEM by or even a series.

The Corsair RM is even worse so no its god awful and should be avoided like the bubonic plague.
Why you might not want to buy a Corsair RM PSU

The newer Corsair RMx is not only cheaper its light years better and so is the EVGA SuperNova G2/P2.

Your confusion is understandable, but the general (though not universal) truth is that a 6 core i7 processor won't help you much for better FPS in games, nor will DDR4 or more PCI-E lanes (unless you have 4 GPUs). Games are still generally limited by graphics horsepower, which is why someone suggested you try to find room in your budget for another 980Ti. The i7 mostly offers significant performance gains in media heavy applications like Adobe Creative Suite, video rendering, or other heavily parallel applications. Games and web browsing are not among these.

As for the other issues, a fancy CPU cooler (be it a closed loop liquid cooler or an air tower cooler) is only required if you want to overclock your CPU. The 212 you mentioned originally would be perfectly suitable for a stock clocked i5 or even a mild overclock.
