[TechInsider] The Apple store will now perfectly install a new screen protector on your iPhone - Page 10

I'm not sure how people can say screen protectors are a waste of money.  Being a trades-person who works outside and with tools, I replace my screen protector once every 6 months or so on any phone I've owned.  The result is a crystal clear phone screen with no damage to it that still looks like brand new.  I'll gladly keep paying $20 for a decent screen protector for my $600+ phone or tablet the same way I apply wax to my car to protect it's paint job from salt, sand and other chemicals.

The latest gorilla glass can scratch but most hairline scratches are very hard to see with a back lighting from the display.

They aren't scratching the screen, they are scratching the a thin coating on top of the screen. Not all phones have this coating (mine doesn't) If you watch any durability test videos on youtube it is pretty obvious which ones do - those phones show a scratch, or more accurately a discoloration across the abrasion of the screen.

That thin coating is the OLEOPHOBIC COATING, it's like teflon non stick coating but for the phone.

I already did it before, not gonna do it again just because some random guy doesn't know better.

20?

You can get a killer glass screen protector for less than that.
