I might just wait for new GPU's to come out like the Nvidia 1000 series.
Well, considering that the Polaris GPUs will come out in ~6 months, and the Pascal in ~8, you can wait. But nVidia GPU's can consume as much as the AMD GPU's.

I would wait for a good 600-650 psu to go on sale then you have lots of options on the GPU and some overclock head room. I have seen GPU reviews and many Nvidia cards will draw as much watts peak as their AMD counterpart despite being rated lower

My son has a 990fxa-ud3p rev 4 and fx 6300 and hyper 212 evo. His max OC is 4.5 with 4.4 24/7

Youngest son has 970a-ud3p with fx 8310 with hyper 212 evo. His max OC is 4.6 with 4.4 24/7

The 6300 will not boot 4.6 and it toasty at 4.5. The 8310 is cooler at 4.5. So the 6300 has no more headroom than a fx 8

I also use a cx430m psu to overclock the fx 8310 to 4.6 and a 280x to 1100/1500

I think the motherboard is the culprit. As I've seen others complain about hitting a wall around 4.5-4.6ghz with the rev4.

My FX 8350 on a 990fxa-ud3p rev 4 does 4.83ghz and will boot 5 ghz

So no

Not all of us - Microcenter isn't in some areas, myself for example would have to DRIVE to score some of the deals others are getting.

However I know what you're getting at, availability varies depending on location and in some parts of the world it's slim and expensive pickings. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

The dollar is really strong too. I would think if you ordered online, you'd often pay a premium on exchange rates. I did make out like a bandit too. I picked up a nice case fan that will be about $2 after mail in rebate.

Microcenter is a really fun store to visit too. The closest one to me is about an hour away, so I dont get to visit as often as I'd like.
