Low Score in Firestrike 1.1?

Thread Starter
Just tested my build in firestrike 1.1 and I think my scores are kinda bad. GPU is running at stock speed/boost (MSI GTX 970) and my cpu is oc'd to 4.4ghz(i5-3570k 1,120v).

I got this result, how is the score and what is bottlenecking my pc?

Tough to call. My GPU core clock is slightly higher at 1376mhz and my 2500k was running at ~4.3ghz.

I also recall Ivy Bridge not being much better than Sandy Bridge overall, so based on that it seems fine from my point of view?

EDIT: Both our processors are quad-core and single-thread and I'd imagine you'll only see a massive advantage over mine when you hit IBs i7 range where hyper-threading really leaves my 2500k in the dust in the physics tests.

What exactly are you concerned with? Your results are better than 75% of all results. You won't get much more out of a stock 970 and OC'd i5. If anything it's your CPU that the most likely culprit.

Haven't gotten to oc my GPU yet(had it for a week), but I just felt like all other results I've seen around have been ~15k.

Okey, trying to get a backup cpu so I can delid and try to push it further.

Looking at the Firestrike physics score and scores in general, I think your scores are fine considering how you and I have both OC'd to similar clocks.
As far as those with much higher scores go, I'm tempted to say that either:

1: They've heavily OC'd the GPU and memory and to avoid hitting the power-limit they've modded the card (something you'd have to do but would likely void your warranty)
2: They've heavily OC'd the card and have been lucky enough not to have Firestrike cause the Power-Limit to be reached. A similar thing happened to me when I had my Galax 970 at 1490 core, where Firestrike worked perfectly but any intense sessions of Battlefield 4 and War Thunder caused it to max-out its power-limit numerous times, resulting in fairly regular performance drops.
or 3: They're running i7 processors where, as I mentioned before, the hyper-threading really gives the final score a decent boost through its far higher scores in the physics test.

Yeah, totally didn't think of hyperthreading
