[G3D] Mad Catz fires 37 percent of staff - Page 6

They're pretty much comparable, the only real strength was that the q4's came dual console capable from the get-go. I actually prefer the madcatz stick layout due to the qanba having everything shifted off center ever so slightly to the left, but that's a personal thing. I used to have a Q4 and really liked the weight and feel of the shell, but the button placement definitely threw me off after having used a TE for so long. I sold it and got a TE-S again and have had no problems, it feels great!

Kinda sucks considering the future of fighting game peripherals. Madcatz pretty much brought quality home arcade controller products to the mainstream here around the time SF4 was released. The only other big brands that make good arcade sticks are like Hori and Qanba/eightarc outside of custom builders. Madcatz already has trouble meeting demand for their sticks as is.... :C

Been playing since Street Fighter and Street Fighter 2... I stopped playing SF4 on my PS3 when my internet was bad at home for like 6 months straight (Shakes fist at Time Warner) and just recently started getting back again but on PC.

When there was no word for SF5 legacy support for the PS3 fight stick, it pushed me to get a Xbox 360 Madcatz TE S+ to play SF5 on PC anyway since I wanted to change the ball top to an American type bat top:

My old PS3 Fight Stick and TE S+ Stick

Bought a Black and Red Sanwa Bat Top because I couldn't make up my mind:

Installed the red bat top:

I checked the PS4 and PC gaming forums of OCN and sadly there is no SF5 threads or FGC... maybe someone should create one? thumb.gif

I'm in! I was a big time SF2 arcade player back in the day, spent most of my time in college in the game room taking people's money on the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo machine, LOL. Once Super Turbo HD Remix came out on Xbox 360 and PS3 I got back into playing Street Fighter and going to tournaments again. Played that game almost exclusively (got to #1 on the online rankings on the 360 a couple of times, spent a long time in the top five). Really looking forwad to SFV, though I'm not nearly as good at the newer SF's as I am with SF2.

I love fighting stick pron! Here's some of mine (I also have some old Hori sticks lying around that I didn't want to dig up):

If the company cared anything about its employees they are going to be laid off. Being fired is detrimental.

Unless you have some sort of inside knowledge, there are entirely too many variables at play to make such a blanket statement.

It's a title by g3d, not company statement?

Because the controllers Nintendo make are designed to also be used as a defensive weapon, in case of break in or angry spouse. Remember the carnage when the Wii first came out with the faulty straps? biggrin.gif Many dead tv's, dozens of injured humans, not so many dead controllers lol thumb.gif Pretty sure I threw my N64 gamepads at the wall more than a handful of times. Still got the original 2 I had when I bought the system, still works tongue.gif

How many hours have you put into using it?

I've had several Saitek input devices over the years (though the X36 was the only one I was really happy with), and the main issue is usually longevity.
