[WCCF] HITMAN To Feature Best Implementation Of DX12 Async Compute Yet, Says AMD - Page 19

Except the features missing aren't as important and as said in your link, are doable through other methods with high FPS.

I want to know what PS2 games you played that had the amount of detail in FO4..Don't get me wrong, plenty still look great but PS2 is a low resolution mess most of the time these days. (Unless you're upping the internal resolution with an emulator)
Sure, it's not amazing looking but it's still pretty good given the amount going on typically in a Beth game. Plus, it's their first foray into the new consoles and a massive engine update, TESVI should be much more thorough (Hopefully) because of all that work on the foundation of both series'.

That is the double standard I am talking about.

Had this been a GameWorks thread/feature discussion, it would have been flooded with "GameWorks! Get that crap out of here, ruining and tubing games!". Yet, here we are, discussing an ENTIRE article about AMD's Gaming Evolved, and people (you) are trying to say it is just about ASC.

No, this is an announcement by AMD and IO of their partnership via the Gaming Evolved program, literally. Let me show you....
This is a Gaming Evolved announcement, and people are going spastic over it, yet with Nvidia they would be burning torches. Further, and I want people to actually think about this...

ASC v.s. Phsyx: Both are features that one can use, but not the other, so why is one OK?

As far as I can tell, ASync is part of DX12 and they're optimizing for use of that...So at least nVidia will have better support for it in future when they get the full DX12 spec whereas PhysX with a GPU will always screw over anyone wanting a Radeon.
And nVidia does support async, it just doesn't have dedicated hardware in the GPU for it and performance suffers greatly as a result. Even TWIMTBP was alright compared to Gameworks when they just helped developers leverage DX better even if it focused on areas nVidia was strong in..AMD/ATi could still run the games and get all the features.

It'd be idiotic for AMD to do. PhysX would become the standard and nVidia could update it in ways that run horribly on AMD architectures with no real way for AMD to fix the problem, plus if it was a standard and all of a sudden nV had to raise the price for whatever reason AMD would have to lose support for a tonne of games or just pay it. If they asked AMD/Intel to come on board as co-developers even if they paid a fee for the license it'd be much better but still not ideal.

In the meantime, let more games be praised for X64 tessellation on every character's Hair that looks exactly the same as x8 but it is implemented like that for reasons you can only imagine, with games like Fallout 4 that looks like crap and run like crap.

This makes me sad.

Ditto: It doesn't matter how much market share Nvidia has, as we just saw with Ubisoft's Division, the consoles have the biggest priority from developers and they can run heavy workloads of Async Compute so Async Compute will get implemented regardless of Nvidia's blessings.

Yes if IQ was higher but that was not the case with God Rays.

don't be sad dude. DX12 only came out ~6 months ago with W10. and if AMD had't had mantle, MS would still be sitting on the proverbial pot with it. buy the game and devs won't care who has market share.

I thought that Higher Settings = Higher Image quality, at least that's how its always been, until Gameworks.

The difference in IQ between low and ultra god rays was around 1% at the cost of 20+ frames.

the 20-25 frames penalty is for Nvidia cards, AMD gets around 35 frames penalty, and 1% Image Quality Difference is being optimistic.
