Yes, at the cost of performance.

Pretty easy to just turn off settings that cause huge impacts or to lower them if there's no discernable difference in image quality. Really can't believe all the people whining in here instead of using common sense. If Gameworks settings can be turned off, there's no reason to complain.

Then why adding them in the first place? If the setting don't increase image Quality and only destroys performance? Probably just for benchmarking sites maxing out games in their benchmarks to make competing graphics offerings look bad, I just don't see any other valid reason given the fact those effects are utterly useless but can cripple up to 50% of AMD's graphic performance.

Because some people have really strong rigs that could support the graphic effects and probably would like to get as much as they can out of their cards in terms of eye candy.

True, but its easier/cheaper just to use the Gameworks library than to spend even more man hours (and thus money) to develop your own effects that could just end up buggy and horribly optimized.

Gameworks is the easy way out of making a game look better.

So Titan X SLI is not a strong rig? I mean you quoted someone with that configuration that complained about Gameworks and you tried to use the same logic (or lack there of I should say). Where does it stop?

If a Gameworks feature does nothing but cause performance drops without increasing the experience, it is a waste of time and should not even be implemented.
