[WCCF] HITMAN To Feature Best Implementation Of DX12 Async Compute Yet, Says AMD - Page 3

After watching this, I find those Tweaktown and Techspot numbers to be utterly meaningless.

If you want to give this franchise a try i suggest you to try Hitman Blood Money.

As long as Nvidia impliments the Dx12 spec for async compute in hardware, sometime. It'll run smoothly either way, depending on what settings you turn off.

I mean you don't see people go on lawsuits that their DX10 cards only run DX11 poorly and with missing features, if the companies were so generous to emulate the DX11 features in software. There's no native DX12 cards at the moment, so same thing.

If you can show me another video where they use the updated driver and it shows the same thing I will consider them useless as well.

The video uses 355.98 and the Ashes fix driver is 358.50

neither the slow traveling rockets, nor the flying things, have the glowing effect present on the 390X, in this video, which uses 'Nvidia driver version 358.50'

If that's what you mean.

edit:
this:

and this effect:

Just pointing out that this is what people seem concerned about, not trying to prove Nvidia doesn't have it or anything, but doesn't seem present here, and maybe on more driver/game versions. I don't know if this was fixed with current day patch/driver or is going to be addressed in any way.

Here it seems that particles for nvidia are the same as the above video

Forget about Ashes Of The Singularity guys.. The amount of Async it uses is negligible. rolleyes.gif Using it as "proof" that Maxwell is just as capable is nonsensical.. It's a well known fact that GCN is far more complex and far more geared towards parallelism. Nvidia optimised their architectures for current API's, AMD (stupidly from a business stand point) geared their architectures toward something like DX12. I think at the time AMD expected developers to run with it, but they never did.

I'm not a big Hitman player at all, but thumb.gif for the implementation of new tech.

I am interested to see what comes of this technology. I wonder if it will see the light of day in DICE's new BF game too?

i hope so. Mantle was a good start, but never got out of beta. DX12 will have more mainstream support.

That would be awesome. thumb.gif DX12 supports GPU's from multiple vendors, it just depends if Nvidia allows it.. Nvidia disables PhysX if an AMD card is detected, so don't count on it. mad.gif
