"Quantum Break on Windows 10 is a Windows Store exclusive," Greenberg said when directly asked if the game would come to Steam.

Now that it's confirmed that this game will be Windows Store exclusive it's concerning that there is no fallback from gamer community whatsoever about this. Windows Store is DRM and it's magnitudes worse than Denuvo could ever be so we should raise awareness about it.

some quotes from around the net i collected about the horrors of Windows Store games:
Quote:
Windows 10 store exclusive means it is built as a windows app which means:

No SLI/Crossfire,

Windows 10 store download is buggy,

No refund policy explained,

Vsync is always on,

Always borderless fullscreen,

Game files are protected,

Can't launch it via the exe (So adding it as a non steam game will not work)

No fps/hardware monitor software works with it,

You need to take control of the folder as admin if you want access to the files

Mouse software which lets you create custom binds for each game doesn't work

Say bye to using sweetfx and mods

EDIT: I'm not making this up or taking it from other sources. I'm part of the Closed BETA for Fable Legends and have Minecraft Windows 10 Edition. I've came across all of these issues
Quote:
Windows (cr)appstore is a DRM-ridden pos that treats all users as stupid children, worse than Steam, Uplay or Origin in most regards.
-You need to take ownership over the application folder to be able to acces the game files
-You can't modify anything like configuration or game files without triggering the DRM.
-You can't copy the game files wherever you want and/or execute them directly from game .exe
-Probably no such thing as an offline mode - need to be logged in with your Microsoft ID all the time.
-The DRM is deeply integrated into the OS
-It's actually worse than their old GfWL client

Now our biggest gripe with this – apart from the fact that Microsoft is doing its best to promote its platforms – is that this game may be plagued by the same issues that already affect the Windows store version of Rise of the Tomb Raider.
The Windows store version of Rise of the Tomb Raider does not support exclusive full screen and SLI/Crossfire, and PC gamers can’t use third party overlay programs (such as FRAPS or MSI Afterburner).
Windows 10 download progress bar does not accurately display progress. • Due to a UI issue download progress may not be accurately displayed (despite downloading without issue). • When pausing and resuming the download, it may appear that the download has reset (appears to start from 0). However, actual download progress has not been affected.

Let me just go ahead and pick up all that money I was throwing at the screen until this post, and put it back in my wallet. I think I would rather go buy a DIY razor-blade and hot sauce enema kit.

As long as windows store aint a piece of crap like GWL i don't care tbh.
The more competition Steam gets, the better it is for the consumers. They had a monopoly a couple years back and it really shows.

except that win store IS far worse than GFWL ever was. games you buy from win store aren't proper games as we are used to, but they are severely limited apps with many features we are used to as PC gamers hampered or absent. read more in my post above.

That's their strategy: "Well Apple gets away with a locked-down platform on cellphones. Why can't we make Windows PCs just as locked down?"
