It's even funnier as I know who the bottom person is that says PC games are "weird."

I'll just leave this here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFhc9fgFQBvZ9iH3BfLK9Ow

Watch his "10 Things I Hate About PC Gaming " video and you'll see what I mean.

They are definitely losing sales for Quantum Break if they are going Windows Store only compared to Steam, but I think they have a long term plan.

I honestly don't care much and don't understand why people are always so hateful towards Origin, Uplay, GOG galaxy etc.

Sure I'd like to have all games on steam, but having a game on a different online platform would never stop me from buying it just because it isn't on Steam smile.gif

Files are locked unless you mess with them from linux or change a group policy or something. The programs can only be ran from the Windows store and all this prevents modding, shader injector, etc.

It's the complete antithesis of what PC gaming is supposed to be. There is no exclusive titles MS that would make me support it if they ONLY release it through the Windows 10 store.

As with previous versions of Windows, MS only has a new DirectX version to hold over gamers' heads to get them to use whatever platform they're pushing. In this case, not only is it the latest version of Windows, but it's also their new store which in CONSIDERABLY more "locked down" than Steam, Origin, Uplay, etc.

And because it goes through the Windows 10 Store, it abides by their usage policy, which would mean they can get away with much more "stealth" telemetry when your game in running.

That is honestly sad to hear.

I am sometimes using some programs to change windowed mode or FoV (because of motion sickness). Would Flawless Widescreen or BorderlessWindowed be blocked aswell?

People have been reporting that the Windows Store version of the new Tomb Raider game DOESN'T run in Fullscreen exclusive mode, JUST fullscreen/ borderless windowed mode.

I only game in Fullscreen exclusive mode, so, as I pointed out, it REMOVES options and customizations from PC users.

Let's be honest here, if MS could turn all Windows PCs into a locked-down platform like iOS, they would.

In the future, they want a cut of ALL Windows' software sales.

Yep. I was trying to get Shadowplay to run on Tomb Raider for Windows 10 and any and all overlays are disabled. Even FRAPS doesn't work.

Not only that but the exe is hidden somewhere within the C drive and I need to modify a bunch of user access to enter the folder.

I also cannot choose where exactly I want my Windows Store apps installed. I can only choose the drive but I cannot be more specific.

It is complete and utter garbage. Microsoft learned nothing from GFWL. If anything, games through the Windows Store are worse. It limits the user to a useless extent and I have no idea why they couldn't just go the simple route. They actively try to take away freedom from the end user. I regret purchasing it from them even though it was just 9$.

Edit: GeForce Experience also doesn't work on it so I cannot downsample from 3060x2036 like I do my other games. Damnit Microsoft. You had one job!

I hate you! tongue.gif I actually lost four and a half minutes of my life listening to that crap. biggrin.gif Luckily, I have awesome selective memory!
Game looks like a "cinematic-cut-scene-fest", I hope it isn't... As of right now, I don't know what to think of it. I guess once it's out and properly reviewed?!
