Ya only there is no such thing because 2011 and 2011-3 are the same exact mounting systems, the only difference is in the chip pin outs. Whoever told you that crazy talk is flat out wrong.

With Clear tubing, although I do not think air bubbles could cause that kind of a difference unless there was a massive one in the CPU block. It is most undoubtedly a bad CPU mount, they could have left the plastic on not used enough paste not used any paste ect. You need to re seat the block, there is really no way around it.
I know you feel this is too much work, but honestly I am going to have to agree with Poisoner, if thats too much work than watercooling isnt the hobby for you. This is the issue with those people building watercooled pcs for people, then people dont know how to maintain them.
In 6-12 months that loop is going to need to be dissembled, and all the blocks cleaned, tube replaced, ECT. Watercooling is not a 1 time build it and forget it, it requires maintenance and is going to need to be disassembled and reassembled quite often. If that is an problem for you then I would suggest you sell the system and get an AIO cooler that you can more easily manage. I know this may sound harsh but its reality.
