In short: Microsoft is taking action. It has decided to release updates “later this year” which will enable users to fully control all background telemetry and data tracking and, if desired, disable it completely.

Or Not. http://www.tweaktown.com/news/50308/8-hours-windows-10-sends-data-microsoft-ip-addresses-5500-times/index.html

In 8 hours, Windows 10 sends data to Microsoft IP addresses 5500 times.

Since the release of Windows 10, we've been slowly learning just how much of a spying tool it is for Microsoft, but these new numbers are going to blow you away. Voat user CheesusCrust has completed some extensive testing on Windows 10, where he reports that during an 8-hour period, Windows 10 attempted to send back data from his PC to over 51 different IPS addresses owned by Microsoft, and at a staggering 5500 times.

After 30 hours, the data being sent back to Microsoft from Windows 10 expanded to a huge 113 non-private IP addresses. These IP addresses being non-private means that hackers can intercept that data, which makes anyone using Windows 10 very, very vulnerable. You might think this is just a once-off, and that the proof can't be replicated? Yeah, well, no.

Ironically, the original source is from Forbes as well.

More like Win 10 adoption rates are still much lower than they anticipated even with the free upgrade lol

Also I'll believe it when I see it it's been independently verified by the online community that "stop tracking" does indeed mean "stop tracking" and not "I'll put this fake radio button here to make you feel better".

Only for enterprise.

While it may change in future, for now full control over telemetry is currently only being brought to Windows 10 Enterprise.

Isn't this for Enterprise only? Everything's the same then.

Microsoft however has made no announcements about any changes to consumer editions of Windows 10, even upcoming ones, and Kelly’s most recent statements appear to be inaccurate or misguided, or both.

Ironically, the original source is from Forbes as well.

Yeah but, there's a key element to the situation - None of the information being "taken" is actually intrusive...It's not personal information.

They're analyzing your habits, your clicks and your nuances - Not your keystrokes, what you click and personal information...

They've been very open about that since day 1...You actually have nothing to worry about.

I don't want to be analyzed at all! You do know that enough meta-data is the same as full information.

Welcome to America where even buying a cheaseburger is subject to analysis.

You do have the freedom to move but, in 5 years, you won't have the freedom to choose, anymore.

Also - No.

Metadata is not full information - There's a very big difference. Going further then metadata is a violation of the 4th amendment...
