This is what I have it narrowed down to based on price and availability

Asus X99-A
MSI X99A Gaming 7 (****ty NIC but I dont LAN... does it affect internet?) (Not sure it has Intel RAID)
ASRock Fatal1ty X99X KILLER/3.1

Im after reliability with latest firmware and a good fan controller.

Stuff like Bluetooth 4, wifi I can add later on as needed.

Ive narrowed it down to Asrock and Asus if the Killer NIC is going to affect my internet.

The info i cant find is if the Asrock has a proper fan controller, based on what I have read its not temperature based.

mmm, I would go with the ASUS first, and the MSI second.
As for the Killer NIC on the MSI, it wont affect anything. Its just a LAN card with a dedicated controller rather than using CPU power, not that that would be much at all, especially on a 6core+ cpu. The MSI does have RAID but doesn't specify the controller (support RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5 and RAID 10)

Im going to go with the AsRock and buy a Corsair Commander Mini to control and monitor the fans.

It will also be interesting to test the Intel and Killer NIC side by side on the same system. I will be sure to post results.

Asrock X99X killer 3.1 is basicly a good choice.
Killer nic is basicly just a normal nic, but it comes with additional QOS software.
In which you can set package priorization.
But in most scenario´s this does not realy make much sense, because your router will basicly take care of that stuff.

I´m personaly not realy a fan of quallcom atheros nic´s.
But this is mainaly because i do allot of virtualization stuff with Linux.
And there for Intel nic´s simply work better.

But in case of the Asrock board, its allways nice to both options availeble.
In most normale usage case scenario´s, i would recommend to just use the intel nic.

Further the Asrock X99X killer 3.1 is a sollid board.
Decent vrm design good quality components arround the board.
Very good onboard audio aswell.
I would grab the Asrock over the lower tier Msi boards like the X99S sli plus any day of the week.
