Worried about not having enough radiator....options? - Page 2

I stand corrected then.

One more reason to stay away from AMD CPUs I guess if all the boards have issues with the VRM temps.

The problem is only prevalent on the 9590 and 9370 which come in at almost 100W higher than the rest of the line.

Well your statement of "If Vrms get hot the board sucks" Is also pretty wrong, In most cases ya your right and I will agree but even on high end boards (Such as my RIVBE) pushing 1.5v my vrms get pretty hot. Could they run without a block still yes, however the hotter they are the worse the perform if you can keep them cold it can increase your OC potential. Now of course 1.5v in my example is way beyond what any sane person would run for a 24/7 setup, but there is a use in extreme cases.

In most cases though you are correct its a waste of time. The reason his AMD setup has that affect is AMD CPUs require alot more power than an Intel does.

For an idea of the kind of wattage that thing is pulling here,

It defiantly needs water cooled VRMs lol.

To Op you have the best 480 rad you can buy so not much you can do there. However your rad does have a very high FPI, so if the temps are not within your liking get faster fans turn them down for idle and for load (when you got headphones on) ramp those suckers up. Some GTs in push pull the 3k RPM model spinning at 3k that will give you some pretty good cooling.

Thank you sir. I am in agreement that high end fans are probably my only real option at this point. +rep
