Sold Phone now buyer can't sign in? - Page 2

He already went and did a recovery, same thing asks him for my user name and password for GMAIL.

This happened to me when I sold my old phone to my father in law, yeah we had to wait 72 hours before being allowed to login.

That's very interesting, i think your only choice is to wait until the account gets unlocked and have him login to the account and then remove it manually. Even after flashing a rom the device protection will still be enforced.

Is this a new feature? We did the exact same thing 2 months ago, same model phone and we did not have this issue at all. We you say remove account you mean remove device? I don't want to remove my GMAIL account I need that :-)

You can remove the device from your google 'my account' settings > sign in & security>device activity & notifications> select the device & remove. You're not removing your gmail account, just the device.

Asked about the reflash cause I had something similar happen when I sold my one+ but the re-flash sorted it out but this was pre-marshmallow.

OK did that but there is no option to remove the device. Its just letting me know its an unknown device and that it tried to sign in. I said it was OK. Maybe I have to wait the 72 hours before I can remove it?

I had this exact same problem. A great member of XDA came up with a solution for the moto x pure. 72 hours or fug you google.
