simple question about CPU + GPU water cooling systems

Hey guys, I've never done any water cooling, so it may sound like a noob question (maybe it is) but I've been watching some videos and reading some articles about the subject, and I like the concept of CPU+GPU cooling, but one thing that I see very often is a linear system, where the water goes from the radiator to the cpu, then to the gpu, then back to the radiator (sometimes with a pump or reservoir or something else in between)

but my question is, doesn't the cpu gets cool by receiving cool water and transfering it's heat into it? isn't the water leaving the cpu warm, and not ideal to enter the gpu block?

from my understanding of thermodynamics, the water should be cooled again before going into the gpu, no?

No the temperature of the loop will equalize across it. Even if you did go rad, CPU, another Rad, GPU the temps would go down maybe 1c tops. The temperature of the water will always be the same throughout the loop.
