How do I tell how much memory I'm using on my card?

I'm curious how much memory I'm using on my card when playing games. I use FRAPS to get an estimate of my frames per second but I'm curious how much memory I'm using. I believe my 780 has about 3GB but I'm curious if I could use more. Unless I know how much I'm using, it is hard to say.

Thanks

msi afterburner. If you install afterburner + river tuner (same installer just check the box) you can overlay all the information ingame if you dont you have the information in the afterburner window.
Works with all cards not just msi.
