There are many mousepads that act badly with PMW3310 (most hybrids + plastics). Remember that every PMW3310 has that lift-off bug and it can trigger in any PMW3310 mouse.
I agree! My EC1-A runs on an Avago 3310 and I was using it on a Glorious PC Gaming Race mouse pad and it was rather sluggish at 800cpi. When I decided to clean that mat and revert to my Goliathus Speed mat, holy cow, it was like the sensor came to life and was too quick for my liking.

That's probably the only drawback for driverless/softwareless mice like the DM1 and Zowie mice. You have little control over adapting the mouse to the surface you're using it on.

I use a logitech g640 cloud9 edition as my default, on top of a SS qck heavy. i tested the mouse on both pads.

So the ZA12 i RMA'd i replaced with a new one that has no issues tracking on both pads.
A friend of mine also had a za12 z/b with the same issues on a qck heavy.

I've seen some people asking about how it performs with the 500hz fix, and I must say it 's spectacular. 1000hz feels sluggish to me with any mouse, which is kinda weird considering it's technically supposed to be more responsive, and the dm1 is no exception to this. With the 500hz fix it definitely feels snappier to me and behaves as you'd expect a 3310 to. I was having tracking issues with 1000hz as well, though that may just be my mousepad(s) and copy of mouse, but the switch to 500hz seems to have fixed it. Overall, I hope DM develops a full software suite so that this can easily be swapped as it has changed their mouse from being a backup to my backup to being my daily driver.

edit: unfortunately the problem persists. It will randomly spin out, possibly due to the slight bit of sensor rattle. Other than this, it would be an outstanding mouse. :c

Hi OCN community,

We are looking to find a few DM1 PRO owners among you to help us test a firmware upgrade. So far the results were generally positive. I would like to ask you to contact us via PM if you're willing to give this firmware a try.

After receiving a PM from you, we may ask you a few additional questions.

Thanks!

I gotta say I just got the mouse and tested for a few minutes and so far I really like it. The cord isn't the best but it's definitely not the worst. I have been using heavier mice so at the moment it feels extremely light but I will adapt to it over time. Initial thoughts are that this mouse will end up being my daily mouse. I would like to natively set it to 500hz instead of 1000hz and it is nice that it defaults to 800dpi when plugged in which both are preference. It would be nice if there were a small/minimal software utility to set the hz, color, dpi and store on the mouse once set. It may be a little expense for what it is but it is no worse than what zowie and finalmouse are charging. Although I will say Zowie does feel like it has more durability/quality to it. Compared to my ec1-a the 3310 implementation feels much better in the DM1.

You can permanent make it 500hz the download is somewhere in this thread

Yeah the cord was my only real problem.. dragged way too much on my pad

Yeah, I rather not do that but it is an option. I know there isn't anything wrong with that approach but i'd rather it be native to the mouse. As far as the cord I have it on a mouse bungee and it is in a good position where it doesn't drag much.
