Please Please dont quote those crazy and very misinformed news articles as fact....

However you are semi right, Some flavors can give you popcorn lung over a long period of time. The flavors that do so contain Diacetyl, which not many flavors do at all. That is waht causes popcorn lung, it is what is used to make the butter flavor in popcorn and also in Ejuice. The only flavors affected are those with butter accents which again there is not many, furthermore it took workers many years of inhaling that stuff daily all day long to develop popcorn lung. So yes if you vape custard as your only vape in 20 years you could develop popcorn lung.

But I digress, it's the smokers hurting everyone obviously as these huge refineries etc are just perfect for everyone's health. thumb.gif

I agree, this was what was funny about the heavy metal article and fox 10 put out. Then 2 days later a scientist came out and said ya yall are dumb. The amount of "heavy metals" they found, are very low in comparison. He showed how much they claimed from a vape hit then showed how much you get for every breath you take in LA and it was about 10 times more just by breathing in Los Angeles.

Now I am not saying that vaping wont kill us it may, there may be some repercussions down the line. However I do know I feel better than when I smoked and my doctor says my lungs look better every time I go, so its much better than smoking cigs.

I mean honestly though we are all dying anyway, you are always dying every moment of everyday you are dying.

People that are smoking cigarettes please, please stop. Stop now. I smoked for ten years. I quit on my birthday 2009. Four years later, I was diagnosed with non-small cell adenocarcinoma, Lung Cancer.

I had full chemo (six weeks) vb-18, cisplatin, with 35 radiation treatments. @ treatment 33 The radiation was so strong i would wake up feeling like i was cooked. It felt like my muscles were burnt inside next to my bones. My skin blistered. While I was in the radiation machine, i could see blue/grey light, even with my eyes closed. They burnt my eyes. Like looking at a wielder w/o protection. The radiation damage both my lungs and my liver.

I've had the cancer return last year. Doctors removed 40% of my right lung. Now I seem to have respiratory infections all the time. I cough up blood. I was in the hospital 2 times last year with phenomena, and on antibiotics 5 times.
I'm not telling you this to make you feel sorry for me. I want you to know the truth about smoking. Every breath I take hurts, with the infection. Summer will be better. Don't SMOKE. If you do STOP NOW. It will or kill you.

I am truly sorry you have had to endure this, but don't judge vaping based on your experience from smoking cigarettes. If anything I would think that you would be happy that there is a way for people to get off of tobacco that otherwise wouldn't.

The popcorn lung stories don't tell the whole story. You posted that Ecigs "give" you popcorn lung which is not the case. There are no reported cases of popcorn lung from vaping. There are people getting popcorn lung from working in popcorn factories. These people are reported to have gotten the illness from breathing very high levels of Diacetyl for many years. That flavor was used in small amounts in Ecigs, but have since been pretty much phased out because of the reports from the popcorn factories. The vaping community came together and urged all e-liquid manufacturers to stop putting Diacetyl in their liquid. There are now only a very few dishonest vendors that use this flavoring because of this. The vaping community overall is a very responsible group. If we find any flavoring, wick, or wire to be dangerous we put pressure on the manufacturers to change their ingredients and they normally all do. If not they get boycotted.

It really is sad hearing what big tobacco and government has made people believe about vaping by using these fear mongering type articles. Do I think it is 100% safe and won't take any time off anyone's life..... No of course not. Anytime you are breathing anything other than pure oxygen you are doing damage to your body. But what it is all about is harm reduction. If there is a chance to change the smoking epidemic and help people quit who otherwise would not we as a country are foolish to ignore it and even more so discourage it. Everyone should embrace it until it can be proven to be worse for your health than traditional tobacco.

I know you point was to not use either. But unfortunately for some that is simply not an option. If it weren't for vaping they would simply still be using tobacco and causing significant damage to their health and in some cases eventually having to live through what you had to go through. If there is even a chance that 1 person would not have to live through that that otherwise would we should all embrace it,not push it away.

Well i look at it this way. Cars are designed to process high octane combustible fuels, if you put something else in them they will not run right or cause damage. Lungs are designed to process "air" if you give it something else it probably will not run correctly and can cause damage. No matter what way you reinvent the cigarette the same analogy stands tall .

You can safely run your car with ethanol. Your analogy is wrong. Welcome to the internet!

what part of high octane combustible fuels did you not get? cars run on ethanol blends, alcohol blends, propane, cng, and different variations of xylene and toulene blends. Again these are all high octane combustible fuels.

Edit: analogy is perfectly fill your lungs with carbon monoxide and your car with beer and get back to me on how well its working.

The horse your beating, its been dead a while.

No one is arguing that vaping is 100% safe, whats being argued is that its a safer alternative. Thats the point most are trying to convey. Replace "safe" with "safer".

Furthermore I find it odd that your relating inorganic material with organic material as your metaphor.

Love the holier than thou attitude of the non smokers in here. It's up to each person what they want to do with their body. I vape because you can do it almost anywhere, has little to no odor, and you can still smell and taste everything perfectly.

But it's expensive. And I'm sure that nothing that wasn't designed to enter your body still does some type of harrn.

You can also die on the highway, walking down the street, choking on a hamburger, and countless other ways in life. Why does everyone think that because they don't smoke and eat super foods, work out etc that they are going to live to be 150? Get real. I could go into more detail and rant but it's pointless really.
