That's not how language works. This will certainly not be their smallest die for the architecture. Thus it will not be their low end chip.

of course not... I think we will see 400-500mm^2 or even bigger die on 14nm FF.

I don't know if it'll be that big. I mean, there are still TONS of transistors within the GPU die. Even though they're smaller and therefore able to fit in a smaller die, it doesn't negate any of the issues that arise with cooling and power delivery.

Doesn't the Nano have 2x perf/watt over the previous generation? Some tweaks, almost same arch and the same nm. Pascal can achieve that over Maxwell without much internal changes. Sadly, there's almost nothing information about Pascal, which is another piont to think that the changes are minimal.

Running this 950 at 1440p is very possible with acceptable performance and visuals. If you were just into mmo's, mobo's, or, older games then it could easily be a 1440p gpu.

I didn't buy the 950 for 1440p. I moved to a 4k tv on my main rig, and moved my 1440p Gsync over to my back up system.

I wasn't saying to buy a 950 for 1440p. I said that with the way a 950 can perform at 1440p, a $150 range AMD GPU with the performance of a 380 should be more then enough for 1080p.

*I love high end Nvidia GPU's, and low end, like the 750 ti or 950. Even at 1440p you can't hear the 950's fans come on.

That's mainly the frequency and voltage its running at. I think is actually closer to 1.5x anyway but what I'm saying is gcn scales down to 700-900 mhz with much lower voltage and much less power quite nicely. Just look up mining bios's for 7950s and 290s and you'll see what it can do if ppw is the main goal regardless of absolute performance.

Well that GPU is way off at 1440P even R7 370 is faster and much cheaper and also it will use around 100W. You bought GSYNC monitor... well now I see why NVIDIA actually dominates...
