Dram Overclock 1.65v 28 watts.

Thread Starter
I have a question about dram overclocking.
i have 4 sticks.
running them all at 1.65 volts at 2133 11-12-12-31 timings
default is 1.5v 1600 11-11-11-28

and they consume alot of power.

This is Prime95 Blend. Post your own prime95 latest version blend setting
as you can see dram power of 28 watts.
they have no heatsinks.
is it safe to run them at that wattage with no heatsink?

You'll be fine as long as your case has decent air flow. I run my ram at 1.752v (2x2 kit w/ heatsinks + 2x4 kit w/ OUT heatsinks) and they do fine passively cooled.

I did not know memory took THAT much power(7 watts per stick in your case) even when overclocked.

I have run heatsinkless memory at 1.65 volts before without issues.
