Corsair Commander mini and my Wireless card arrived today, my CPU is on its way either to a local depot or my address, I will install them all together.

I am managing 1416 coreclock and 3557 memory clock. according to userbench this seems to be the median average. Im happy with these numbers.

Finally got it all working, the motherboard is great but pretty hard to get going, its really finicky.

Anyway I dont have time to OC it just yet because of the division beta so this is the standard settings I got while getting the motherboard to just load an XMP profile:





I will update this post and the OP later on, I have a lot of pics on my phone from the build.

Ive finished all the overclocking including RAM.

Results are:
  • 4.7Ghz 4.75GHz@ 1.4v (not gonna bother going lower on vcore as temps are fine great and its within the safe limit)
  • RAM 3600Mhz 18-20-20-44-2T 3333MHz 16-18-18-36-2T 1.4v (again havent tested lower voltage)
  • Motherboard voltages seemed to work best on auto except for the fclk one.
  • GPU Core: 1416Mhz(+100) Mem: 3555(+50) or 7110 as some might say. spent too much time testing different clocks


Tests used:

Furmark: Causes too much stress so uninstalled it
Kombuster: Poor detection
Heaven Benchmark: Passed 30mins no artifacts well maybe some
3Dmark Firestrike Extreme
Realbench 1 hour
IBT extreme 5-10 passes failed 20th pass

RAM results:
Heaven unaffected by RAM speed or timings.

Findings: Combined test is heavily affected by RAM.

I got my cpu up to 4.75ghz, it failed the 20th which was the last pass of ibt extreme using 12gb of RAM. I'm considering this stable until I get application crashes.


I cant understand the memory performance differences here, it makes no sense:

1 month of dust on the heatsink


4Ghz, beyond my motherboards capabilities without LN2


This was only about 3/4 the ideal amount for good coverage


Dents and residual paste


Lint from tissues


From being kept on the ground, I have never had this happen to a case. Covered in my review


After consulting with an electrician I vacuumed most this dust off.



Out with the old, note the dilapidated hard drive bungie cords.

Finicky with what? Or in what way?
A drop dead gorgeous motherboard it is. It would look absolutely wicked in an unpainted aluminium or white case.

I recomend against getting an MSI motherboard.

If the USB hubs are not plugged in it wont always post.

Adjusting the overclock usually requires a few failed posts before working even though the OC is tested fully stable.

With the above problems sometimes its a matter of just keep repeating until it works rather than anything specific being wrong.

The PCI slots are particular, you are very limited in where you can put what, forget about SLIx16 or perhaps even x8, right now x8 GPU and x4 SSD is what I managed.

the fan control does not support low fan speeds unless you edit the configuration file in a text editor.

The command centre application requires you to reload such profiles each boot to be configured properly.

there isnt that much RAM on the QVL, I had to RMA one.


Based on all the above MSI simply isnt up to par with Asus and Gigabyte. However I believe its only a matter of time (5 years?) before they figure stuff out.
