Why you might not want to buy a Corsair RM PSU

I can agree with this I had a RM 750 ya it caught on fire. Literally caught on fire, the wires on fire, my case was a big ol ball of fire. Nothing was damaged except some hardrives and the PSU. My assumption is the sata power cables (they caught on fire) were shorting out for a long time and producing heat which caused the plastic to cacth on fire. My drives got fried not caught on fire they just didn't work anymore post this happening.

Corsair replaced all that was damaged but yep FIRE!. Well when I say they replaced it all I had them send my 16gbs of Dominator platinum as I asked for that instead.

CMOS on your motherboard, it looks like a watch battery. This typically will flush the system configuration.

Hey all! The budding PC builder here (his son), checked the pins, everything seemed in order. Reset the CMOS, I had already turned off the XMP switch suspecting that was the culprit but it wasn't ( I turned it on again just for giggles), the chords all work just fine, the power supply is way overkill (It was an oversight I will not repeat), the display does not give any codes other than "00."
Obviously, I'm new to this, being that the computer in question is my maiden voyage, so I'm rather confused regarding a single issue: If the CPU was dead, would the motherboard not even provide power to the mouse / keyboard? It seems, to me, that everything directly plugged into the power supply turns on just fine, but nothing gets any orders. The keyboard, mouse don't know that the rig is on, and the monitor doesn't get any signal (I think that this is because though the GPU is powered, it isn't getting anything from the motherboard, thus rendering the monitor signal-less). I am unsure if this is a motherboard issue or a CPU issue.
Also, something of a curiosity, the motherboard has a "MEM_ok" LED / button on the top right corner, which is not lit. It also does not respond when the button is pressed. I have read the manual, but do not entirely understand what this button / LED is supposed to indicate.
Thanks again for all the help, attempting to join the ranks of enthusiasts, and it's been fun thus far.

Hey CroSSeduP, out of curiosity, did you plug in the addition CPU power wire? There are two power headers on the board that need to be plugged in in order for the board AND CPU to both power up. If you didn't hook up the additional CPU cable, the board may start up, but the CPU won't and you will not have a successful boot. On some x99 boards there are two additional CPU power headers, but I'm fairly certain that yours is not one of them.
