No they're not different. You're calling the "state of the game" something it's not.

It's like saying you can touch the sun. Nobody can. Nobody ever will be able to touch the sun. Saying you can doesn't make it different - It's factually implausible.

Do whatever you want. That's not going to change DLC's. Or how games are released so, to each their own.

Typical response from you and really not at all surprising.

You've already displayed that you cant read into context and yet you expect it of others. The lack of effort on your part is //ALSO// shocking. Typically points are answered in order, otherwise could have been cut from the quote like many other things that were cut.

The issue here is that one definition is factual, and hence why you use it in metaphor to your opinion.

The term beta changes from developer to developer. If it had a universally accepted definition that was enforced by an independent body then you wouldnt see so much variation.

Did I say I was planning to change they way DLCs are implemented? please quote it because Im missing it.

Not sure what you mean.. I am from India and if I can afford to buy a GTX 770, I can definitely afford to buy at-least one AAA game per year , not that I agree with the high prices.
If someone here does not have the wage to buy the hardware, pirating the game would be pointless.

Can they really though?

Let's say a person works 9am - 5pm earning $1 more than the federal minimum wage ($8.25)
8 hour workday - 1 hour unpaid lunch break ( 7hrs )
7 x $8.25 = $57.75
Let's go ahead and only remove $7.75 of taxes = $50.00
Add that full day bus fair of $5 because gas isn't cheap and adding a car means we are adding in insurance payments which can't ignore the wages of 1 day working. = $45
Add in that $5 home cooked lunch you brought = $40
For the sake of this example let's ignore all other living costs that require each days earnings, like electricity, water, the soap to clean your work clothes, and etc.

With the struggles involved in minimum wage earnings, I don't see any minimum wage worker buying a game with 1days earnings, unless we are talking about a young person who lives at home with their parents and does not have any responsibilities tongue.gif

Don't forget the tax penalty if they don't buy health insurance, which also has a $5000 yearly deductible. Even employer-provided health insurance runs anywhere from $200-$1000 per month depending on if you have a family.

Poor billionaire? The people making these games are not billionaires. They are everyday people just like you and me. They have families to feed, bills to pay. You are stealing from them. You think its cheap to live in the areas where their companies are located?

Piracy is never justifiable. NEVER. I don't care what sob story you come up with. Its 100% immoral.

DRM doesn't hamper you at all unless you are a pirate. Steam is amazing. You can get a refund, you can trade games, you can even use offline mode if you don't have 24/7 internet.

Screw fines and jail time, both are a huge waste. Given the opportunity I would reinstate Corporal Punishment. Its the only effective means of preventing future piracy. Nothing like 10 lashes in a public square to keep you from stealing again. Plus it puts on a spectacle to sway others from doing the same thing.

Effectively, the game in India costs 3x more then in the USA, so you are paying an amount (proportional to minimum wage) that would be $180 in the USA.

I would still have bought games, even if they cost $180.

All of that is completely irrelevant, because similar percentages would apply to the minimum wage worker in the other country too.

You did the math wrong. Its 8 hours of work + 1 hour unpaid lunch for a 9 hour workday. I will also note that the federal min wage for Contractors is $10.15 an hour.

not everyone gets a 1 hour lunch. most people only get a 30 minute lunch.

jealous of any bastard that gets a full hour lunch break.

I am just glad in my State that they can't legally force you to take a lunch. I don't like taking lunch at all, would rather go home earlier.
