Question|fx8350 with gigabyte ga-990xa-ud3

Can i overclock fx 8350 with this setup
Cpu:fx8350
Mobo:gigabyte ga-990xa-ud3
Gpu:sapphire r9 390
Psu:900 watt antec 80 bronze
Ram:corsair vengence lp 8gb x1
Cpu cooler:noctua u12p se2
Case:corsair spec-02
Air colling:1 fan in the front as intake,1 fan in the back as exhuast
I am asking becuase i am not sure that my mobo can do overclocking without blowing up

Your motherboard should be able to do about 4.7Ghz, unless you have rev3, which is known to have overheating issues.

This motherboard do have rev 3.0 what is rev? And can i change it? And if i cant overclock this mobo wich mobo i should buy for this cpu for stable overclock

Rev is revision. You can try to overclock on it, but most people here didn't go very far, due to some problematic design of this revision. You can try and see how much you can go.

It depends on how high an overclock you want. Most overclockers here that aim for 4.8-5Ghz territory, get the ASUS 990FX Sabertooth. The gen3 actually has PCI3.0

Generally, better stick to ASUS or Gigabyte. For 4.4Ghz, the cheapest choice is Gigabyte 970 UD3P. Other choices are ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0, Gigabyte 990FX Gaming.
