I think 4k is kind of an odd spot for productivity. Yea, you do get a lot of extra res, but, even you're dealing with a screen that's too small and scaling, losing the advantage of the extra res, or, a large screen that has a lot of spots that's too far out of your comfort zone. Still think that the best, most usable space on any monitor/tv is the middle.

One of the reason I picked up the TV I current have is I bought it from Walmart. I knew I could test it out and easily return it. Not a bad idea if you want to test a larger 4k out for a few weeks to see how it suits you. My plan now is to move this TV to my bedroom, and put one of those 40" Philips 4k monitors in here. Main reason for that is the lack of 4:4:4 Chroma at 60Hz 4k. The slightly tighter DPI will be nice also.

Without a doubt, you're going to want at min a 29.5" deep table/desk for this sized monitor/tv to work.

Beside the thought process of seriously considering using a 40+ inch monitor, is also the cost. About the lowest cost 40 inch 4K 4:4;4 60Hz monitor I could find right now is the Korean Crossover 404K for $640. I think I remember it sometimes going on sale for $500. Even when on sale, I've never before paid close to that much for a monitor. redface.gif

Thx for the input, Chargeit.

I have somewhat similar issues with using the edges for desktop on the 404k, but I wonder how much of that has to do with bad viewing angles on VA technology, also in the case of your TV. Maybe IPS wouldn't feel so bad.

Yea, they aren't cheap.

Coming from buying that Gsync monitor the price isn't so bad for what you get. That thing is $800 I wish I could get back. redface.gif

I don't have issues with the viewing angles. Everything looks pretty good from the center. It's more like it makes me feel off balance trying to do stuff on the edge of the screen. Of course not an issue while gaming or watching movies since the focus is on the middle. I'm sure with enough time spent working off of one of these you'd get used to it.

Just ordered [Perfect Pixel] CrossOver 324K UHD 32" for $439.90 from dream-seller
Lowest price I've seen in its back to $599.00 already
My everyday Dell 30" has been good
Get to compare side by side, price was too good to pass up to go 4K
