Gigabyte XM300 Mouse - Page 42

Ok you can get deathadder 2013 or chroma for chinese market without box for like 33eur if you are on a budget on ali. Its the almost the same as original just mouse3 button breaks more often but easy fixable, not like this gm300 which is way worst problems.

tracking is better with synapse installed on the Da, but the newer ones/chroma have lower tracking performance than the older ones. Also the chroma has a lot higher defective rate and longevity is very short. The 2013 4G 6400 performs the best imo.

Anyone cracked the firmware so we can make our own?

better shape than DA, more responsive

XM300 also has better grip, but less sweaty/greasy. Also doesn't have the sharp edge. It lifts easier (and luckily so because the LOD is on the high side).
I'd go Zowie before a DA. My top 5 currently - and it's in order of in-game accuracy.

  1. XM300
  2. Zowie EC1-A
  3. Cougar 550M
  4. DA
    ... then a significant gap
  5. G303

Has anyone used both the Gigabyte xm300 and the SteelSeries Rival 300 and can let me know how they compare?
I'm having difficulty deciding which mouse to get biggrin.gif

I don't know if you're prepared for the emotional rollercoaster that is owning a XM300. New problems somehow manifest regularly despite no actual updates from Gigabyte

Not yet. I'm not even sure the XM300 shape will fit me well. I would say Rival 300 is a more issue free mouse than the half assed XM300 firmware execution.
At best you really want to order one, test it at least over a weekend by browsing, working and gaming and then decide.
I'm getting more in touch with what fits my hand more and I'm not sure the XM300 which seems similar to IE3.0 is my preferred shape.

Gigabyte IMHO really needs to step up, make a proper software for the mouse but most importantly a proper firmware and wheel that doesn't wobble or rattle.

I have both and if you get an XM300 without any issues its WAY better than rival 300 in MY opinion. Here's why: Shape is a personal thing but I prefer XM300's shape, rubber grips are smoother and nicer to hold in general, main clicks are much crisper on XM 300 (rival's clicks are a touch heavier to press and kinda mushy), side buttons are kinda equal nothing spectacular and not bad either, I like the coating on both aswell (I've the silver rival), afaik XM 300 is about 5g lighter (100 vs 105 on the rival), cables are nothing special again they work on both units (I tape the cable to the back of my monitor so I dont really have problems with them), both mice belly glided out of the box but thats not an issues because you get not 1 but 2 extra mouse feet with XM300, the mouse wheel is the only hardware thing that rival beats XM300 in because my copy has pretty bad scroll sadly.
Now the 3988 in XM300 feels way snapier and better overall compared to the 3310 in the rival, I also prefer XM300's high sensor position. The software is the 2nd thing that rival beats XM300 in. As you might have read in the thread consistent lighting setting is bugged so dont use it, I dont mind it myself I just keep it pulsing in single color. XM300 software works just fine but rivals is just better hands down.
And just as a side note my aim was never as good as with XM300 biggrin.gif So I just suck it up and ignore the crap mouse wheel and enjoy an otherwise awesome mouse for ONLY 36€ thumb.gif Hope this helps!

Decided to look up stuff about this mouse as it's coming free with the 1080 I just ordered. I noticed off the bat it looks like a DA, but with potentially better sidegrips and onboard memory. It's free, so I don't think I'll have much to complain about, but as a previous DA fan, I'm pretty eager to try it out. I've got a Rival 100, Rival 300, Zowie EC-1A and DA2013 to compare it to, so I'll try to chime in when everything is said and done.
