The software is the worst of this mouse quality, it's buggy and barely usable, the moment I try playing with effect LED it goes haywire.
Also by rapid clicking left and right I managed to get the left button stuck down, had to middle click to unstuck it a definite FW issue. And I just did it again, damn it. 100% replicable, just spam left and right button at the same time and the left button gets stuck. Great and now I also lost the right button after I unstuck the left one and can't get it to work again by clicking anything. WTH Gigabyte did you do with the FW, it's not even working like a mouse should
Even after disconnecting the mouse I still don't have right mouse button, it's somewhere saved in the mouse memory, might have to unplug it for a long time or restart the PC or even reset to default with the buggy GB software...
Restarted PC, still no right mouse button, I've even checked with my own app, there are no events generated by the right click in Windows.
Guess what, tried changing CPI on the mouse, now all 4 LED lit up and it doesn't change any CPI at all
My mouse is thus officially kaput right now due to some serious error in the default Firmware.
I bet it's not even the SW problem, it's the mouse FW causing the SW to hang up and show garbage etc.
Port change doesn't help. Letting it sit for a few hours to see if some memory goes out and mouse decides to work again.
Gigabyte: Nice design for medium sized hands up to 19/10cm but the build and design quality could be one step better and the firmware you ship it with bricks the mouse and causes your SW to go haywire as well.
And yes I reconnect IE3.0 and I do have a working right mouse button immediately, it's definitely XM300 FW bug.
100% bricked, tried a different PC with different OS and no GB software on it, still mouse behaves the same, can't change CPI, right button doesn't work as it should, spamming left right causes left to get stuck, clicking down left to drag and pressing right while dragging with left makes left dragging be stuck I don't even have to spam it's that simple to get the left stuck.
R.I.P. XM300, you've lasted 1 day. Guess I'm gonna order Rival 300 test that instead and return XM300 at the same time.
Any other ideas for a big, long hand mouse?
So far I've tried:
- EC1, too small, bad side buttons, bad wheel, ...
- Naos 7000, worst shape ever made, worst coating ever made
- FK1+, not the best tolerances in build quality, stiff Huanos, not big enough ass more of a finger tip mouse IMHO
- XM300, default firmware doesn't work as it should and it "bricked" the mouse
I've put away Rival 300 so far because of the rubber sides feel and poor quality which hopefully they fixed but who knows if new batches have more durable rubber.
DA is expensive and I hear nothing but bad stuff about Razer software for more than a decade along with the DA shape not being that great on the main buttons.
Someone said before that UpdateFW can reset mouse to default configuration but when I run it it just says wrong param which means it needs more input when being run and is meant to be executed via the GB SW
Any other way to reset the mouse or what params to use to get the update working either reset or update to newer FW without using the GB SW? Can someone check what params are used with executing it via GB SW for update?Edited by JackCY - 8/16/16 at 4:27am
