As others have said, finding a new hobby or new type of genre is probably your best bet. In my teens, I would play/grind MMORPGs anywhere from 5~12 hours each day, but now that I'm in my mid 20's, I probably only play 5-15 hours in a week. When I do play, it's mainly CSGO or League of Legends, since the competitiveness keep the games fresh. I really enjoyed the first Tomb Raider, so I will probably be picking up the sequel now that it is out on PC.

Work takes a lot of my time and I started getting into cars after buying a Subaru WRX last year. It's amazing how much information there is to learn once you start a new hobby. I'm the type of person who loves to absorb info about things, so I'm always reading forums or watching videos regarding cars. It doesn't mean I have moved on from gaming, but it means that I can enjoy my time in a different way when gaming doesn't feel fun at times.
This is kind of a sad perspective on anime. It's similar to when there was media coverage about how gaming were turning kids/teens into murderers/rapists due how how "violent" games were 5-10 years ago. It wasn't true for 99% of people, but gaming and violent acts were still lumped together.

It is true that there are Loli (young girls) type of anime/manga that portray that certain situation, but that is a niche in the industry. Most people are not into young children or animals (furry or brony), but those subjects tend to stand out the most since they carry a lot of negative attention. I too am put off by those type of people, but they are who they are. Just because I don't like what they like, it doesn't mean they are less of a person. Most of them tend to be harmless despite being weird, although it wouldn't hurt to be cautious about bringing children near them.

Yeah i hate Loli type anime's. So far liked one punch man and attack of titans. Been watching old anime's recently. I think i watch more anime's then play games these days. Also its good to have few other hobbies.

I'm also at the point of asking very very specific questions to very specific people about if the controls/engine are terrible or not unless i can get my hands on a demo.

It just sucks to lay down money and then have absolutely basic stuff like mouse control not work well enough to enjoy gameplay.
Yeah it feels like a scam every time.
Mouse accel/smoothing is an instant dealbreaker for me as well. Bought SWTOR while it was $60, within a few minutes I quit. Redownloaded it a few times, even after all these years the problem still exists. It's ridiculous.

I don't care what kind of content a game has, if the most basic aspect of it (controlling your character) sucks, then the game itself is garbage.

I've definitely had a change in the way I play and what types of games I play as I get older...

When I was in my youth... I'd love playing COD, BF3, BF4...I really enjoyed the progression online. Now, not so much. Games have an enormous amount of grinding in order to progress through the game and I just simply don't have the time as others do... So it kind of deters me from playing the game when others that have more time have 4x what I've unlocked...World of Tanks is the one exception since I've been playing that game for so long... I've really been playing single player alot more just because I like the story/themes/progression in those. It seems more entertaining for me than online endless progression (like WOT). I currently have been working through FC4. I recently stopped playing ACIII and ACBH so I'll probably pick those back up once I'm finished up with FC4. Not only that I should be getting a new laptop here in the next 5-6months so I'd imagine that'll shift my gaming habits some. Not only that but the time I have to game is way different. I only give myself about an hour to game each day during the week before work...so I've got time from 5:30-6:30am...that's it.

People change. I know I don't game as much as I used to, my attention has migrated over to new things. Maybe you'll come back to wanting to play, maybe you'll continue only playing an occasional game, maybe your gaming chapter is over. No reason to feel bad about it or worry about it, just do you.

In my case, it's only a rare game that'll get me gaming. SWTOR will occasionally pull me back into gaming for multiple hours from time to time, Fallout 4 grabbed me in, Tomb Raider will probably get me for a little more once I do buy it, but for the most part I'm not gaming much at all.

Same. I'm only interested in one or two singleplayer games. Multiplayer gaming doesn't give me the same spark anymore.

It's not that I don't like gaming, it's that I don't have the TIME I did, when I was younger... I used to think spending 100 hours on an rpg wasn't a huge deal, now it's unthinkable. Also, there may be a week or more break between my gaming sessions and, sometimes, coming back to a game, after that break, just destroys any immersion I had developed, so I will start over or just stop completely.

I dunno, its like some have said earlier, people change... I still like the same kind of games I always have, I just can't play like I used to. Another thing I absolutely cannot do is the long marathon sessions... even if I sit down thinking "ok, I have all day to play", I will get a couple hours in and be like "man, I really need to adjust the clutch cable on the mustang" and off I go, to do something else...

i admit gaming is not as good as it used to be to me...i know graphics are way better now but i also think age/work is just not allowing me to enjoy it as much.

but for some reason i keep spending $$$$ upgrading for gaming. i find i like upgrading for gaming and having the ability to game at ultra settings high resolutions more than i like to actually game.

i like the idea of it more than i actually like it.

i pretty much bought a i7 and a 390 just to youtube and troll the web. im not very smart.
