Upgrading 7 year old PC. - Page 4

I hate to add more confusion but there's been a thread going for days and days about CLCs.
http://www.overclock.net/t/1590547/why-you-should-probably-not-buy-a-clc-cooler

The gist of it is that you can generally do better (cooler, more quiet, more reliable, less expensive) with a good air cooler. The thermalright truespirit 140 is a pretty good cooler for the price (a nice step up from the hyper 212). Bigger air coolers will out gun the 120 aios in performance.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about but that color is hideous lol, not trying to be rude. I just don't think it would really fit the color scheme.

So everyone can agree on this;

DDR4: https://www.komplett.no/product/851533/datautstyr/minnebrikker/corsair-vengeance-lpx-ddr4-3200mhz-8gb

CPU: https://www.komplett.no/product/850037/datautstyr/prosessorer/intel-core-i7-6700k-skylake

MB: https://www.komplett.no/product/873648/datautstyr/hovedkort/intel-socket/gigabyte-ga-z170x-gaming-k3-socket-1151

Just need to find something to cool the CPU

yup... noctua fan colors are a big turn off

this is also a very excellent air cooler on par with the noctua

http://www.phanteks.com/ph-tc14pe.html

if you get one with only a single fan, it'll be more quiet, unless you're going for big overclocks, you don't really need a killer cooler, just one that is adequate.

It's a shame they have none of them from the site I'm buying from, are any of these any good? https://www.komplett.no/product/657097/datautstyr/vifterkjoelingvannkjoeling/cpu-luftkjoeling/cooler-master-hyper-212-evo-cpu-kjoeler or https://www.komplett.no/product/862988/datautstyr/vifterkjoelingvannkjoeling/cpu-luftkjoeling/akasa-cpu-cooler-ak-959cu probably not since they are so much cheaper. Now what's this alien looking thing? https://www.komplett.no/product/792033/datautstyr/vifterkjoelingvannkjoeling/cpu-luftkjoeling/cooler-master-v8-gts-cpu-kjoeler

I just thought it looked funny, like a gimmick or something. The color is cool though.

Not a lot of air coolers to choose from? The akasa is not an option, the hyper 212 evo is probably the best budget tower cooler ever made, the coolermaster v8 i'm sure is the beefiest of that bunch, but... not a lot to choose from there frown.gif Do you have any other options for online retailers?

I was wondering about the "K3" variant of that motherboard...
- no NVIDIA sli support
- killer vs intel ethernet
