http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128544 Motherboard purchased 03/25/2013 $75?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125414 GPU purchased 03/21/2013 $110?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125414 GPU with below cooler installed purchased 03/12/2013 $140?

Methinks it would be smart to keep my GPUs for now, and just go Skylake. I want to stop playing with crossfire.

I honestly curious why people value 7950's and 7970's so highly....

Because the GPU is still relevant to this day. It performs excellently at 1080p which is the most common res.

I guess it does come down to the memory, despite having used a 270x 2gb and 760 2gb and loving their overall use/performance with less problems than the 7950/7970.
The 7950/7970 just sits in that sweet spot of being below a performance card and just above the budget orientated ones.
I just remember these selling for 80-100$ and not selling very quick.

They don't sell fast because it is AMD. Brand perception helps with resale value and AMD doesn't have that.
