ViewSonic XG2703-GS 165Hz IPS G-Sync. Anyone else interested in this? - Page 32

(NCX) just gave this monitor a huge thumbs up and bumped it up to the 2nd best 1440p 27" IPS gaming monitor only behind the $1,200 Eizo:

"The Viewsonic XG2703-GS uses a 27" 2560x1440 resolution 8 Bit AUO AHVA panel (M270DAN02.3), a nearly grain free matte coating, has excellent color presets, a high quality dark matte grey bezel which increases the perceived black depth, very fast pixel response times and a 165hz refresh rate. G-Sync (compatible Nvidia GPU required) works from 30-165hz/FPS, and eliminates screen tearing and lag. The Viewsonic XG2703-GS also has ULMB (back-light strobing, excellent 1080p scaling unlike the Asus PG279Q, and superior 60hz overdrive with less overshoot ghosting than the Acer XB271HU. The Viewsonic XG2703 is the best all around 27" 1440p AHVA 144-165hz monitor with Nvidia G-Sync for PC and console gaming, and watching 1080p content."

Yeah, I've had mine for several weeks now and my only complaint is that there is a noticeable color temperature shift between the top and bottom half of the screens on white content. This is a common issue with the AHVA panels as every Asus PG279Q and Acer XB271HU that I've seen have the same issues. Otherwise I'm happy as a clam.

I have had this on an XB270HU there was a huge splotch of temp difference in the lower left part of the screen and i couldn't stop myself from noticing it, i mean it was obvious unless i pegged the monitor at 100% brightness which made it unusable and even then you could see the tinting there. What sort of sweatshop do they make these things in? rolleyes.gif

Yep, it's the lower left corner that has the temp difference for me. But it's either this or TN 144 Hz.

I wonder how they will price it. I think they have to price it at minimum $599 because of the price of their current 27" 1440p 60hz offerings.

It seems to me that the freesync version was cancelled.
There is no official Viewsonic page anymoe.

Someone mentioned that last month, but if you click on "key features" you still see pictures of both versions and the blurb: "AMD FreeSync™ and NVIDIA G-SYNC™ technology (with respective models)".

Considering the reviews this one is getting I don't see why it would be cancelled. Unless the price point isn't profitable or something.

Nah it'll be $499.99, even the MG279Q gets down that low often, if they undercut the gsync ones that are @ 800 they'll definitely wanna undercut any freesync competition as well so $599.99 wouldn't do it, but $499.99 would especially if they can offer a range of like 40-144hz hell even 48-144hz would be good and have it be on par with the lag/response times of the gsync variant. The MG279Q suffers a bit in the lag and response time department compared to gsync alternatives.

The PG279Q suffers from input delay going from 144hz to 165. Not enough to offset the benefit of the additional frames, but enough to make the difference more negligible than it could be. I wonder whether the same is true for the Viewsonic.
