ViewSonic XG2703-GS 165Hz IPS G-Sync. Anyone else interested in this? - Page 6

I wonder if the delays were at all related to the "Vertical line down middle" issue that both the Asus/Acer models exhibit up until now, and for which the firmware fix release has only *just* been released to the public via their service centres.

Maybe they were holding onto the stock/announcement until said fix?

Wow they finally fixed that?? It only took what 5 months? Wonder if Asus got there side fixed. It was the real reason I did not want to by a pg279q or the xb271hu. Even if you buy one now you have to send it in right away to a service center to be fixed. What a load of crock. That and the QC issues was why I was hoping the XG2703gs would come out. Seems there is no good solution for a 144hz ips 2k gs monitor.

If you ask me, having a properly working monitor from day 1 is better than releasing it and taking over 6 months to fix it.

Looking at you AOC US...

I feel the same. Unfortunately both the Acer and the Asus have the shifting pixel issue and will have to be sent into a service center to get fixed as soon as you get one. At the very least Acer is finally set up to fix it while Asus "does not have the special tool" yet to do it and may not for weeks in any of its service centers. Why do I feel like I am going to get the shaft with either of them? I was counting on the viewsonic but since it seems to never be released I am tired of waiting. I guess I better just roll the dice and bend over....

Gsync version is coming out late August, no eta on Freesync version.

Let me give you some context to how I got this. A vendor I work with is a preferred partner of Viewsonic, its the brand we buy for users. I asked the vendor is she could get me some info regarding these since I was thinking about them before I got my BenQ. She contacted them and and sent me this.

Just spoke with Viewsonic. Here is what they know.

VG2703-GS
Due in late August. Based on data reports they think they MAY be shipping by 8/25/16

VG2703
No information, no launch date so far.

I will be able to sell this monitor. If it is for work use I can get you a demo to look at for 30 days, once they are available.
I would just need to know approximately how many you think you may purchase if you like it.

If it is personal use, I can’t get a demo. But, I should be able to get you an extra discount for qty 1.
I can do that a few times a year on personal purchase for my best customer !

I decided not to wait and got the BenQ XL2730Z for $329.

Does anyone have any pricing yet for the xg2703-gs? If it comes in around its direct competitors I will wait another month but If it is still set at the original $1217 when announced, for that money I would rather get a X34 or a Pg348Q.
