Been looking for a higher refresh rate monitor, but with QC issues from Acer and Asus variants this Viewsonic looks like it could be a winner albeit at a higher cost.

It's definitely not going to be cheap, but I don't mind paying more if the quality is high and there is no BLB, dead pixels, whites are uniform, no coil whine etc, etc.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Viewsonic is using their own panels as well.

Meant to be due out in March.

I'm wondering if anyone else is interested in this panel?

Im hoping its not using AU Optronic panel if it is it will have all the issues the acer asus have.

Its quite overpriced compared to competition but if its using panel that doesn't have all the problems AU Optronic has then it might be worth it.

Build looks nice though im not liking the green but that isn't anything plastic dip cant fix.

It will be using an AUO AHVA panel, there are no other options out there for it to use.

If that's the case then they will be binning them and only using the best of the best I guess.

As long as it's as near perfect and problem free that's all I am looking for.

The rejected crap can go to Acer and Asus.

Wishful thinking. Would love that to be the case, though doubt it is.

Well I guess time will tell. Hopefully not long till reviews come out etc.

If they are going to charge a premium for it there has to be something good going for it!

Annoyingly enough ViewSonic recently rejigged their PR department in the UK and now use some pan-European agency to handle this. TFT Central and my own website found the old guys very good, but now we're left without any good contacts. So unfortunately thorough reviews of this model may be delayed as a result. Still really looking forward to that crucial user feedback in the meantime.

Maybe higher QC, although doubtful. It's just that the price reaches levels far above what is sane to spend, in my opinion. Nevertheless, will be interesting to see what could possibly justify the price on this one. There wasn't anything special with the Eizo FS2735, as far as I know. It's priced at similar crazy high level.

I want to know what part of the manufacturing process makes an LCD "overdrive" capable and why solid panel makers like LG and Samsung haven't produced these with their superior quality control. I expect the market for fast panels is very niche is mostly why they aren't interested.. Having to separate into a new line of panels is probably costly and obviously doesn't represent a larger portion of what consumers want.

I am just hoping AUO has taken this new scrutiny to heart and improves their processes and solidifies the overdrive panel market.

If you look at the product images on this page, you can see that the 'Steam' logo is on the top of the monitor stand. I'm curious about the significance. (Some sort of parnership? any added functionaility?)

What's the point of having a dedicated countdown website and then NOTHING happens, lol. All marketing hype, boooo ViewSonic. Not on sale yet anywhere not even on their own site. I just want a monitor, this has been the most frustrating PC experience I've ever gone through, dealing with Acer and Asus monitors all with defects, and now ViewSonic fails by being all hype about release. Hopefully it'll actually release and be available soon. Not a nice April fools joke!
