Asus VN248H-P vs U2414H? Is Dell worth $ 80-90 more?

Asus VN248H-P vs U2414H? Is Dell worth $ 80-90 more?

I don't really plan to daisy chain or what not but I read the Asus only has 87% sRGB coverage while the Dell has 96%. Is the 9% difference going to be huge?

I don't mind the limited ports of the Asus though.

I would be using it with my PC and consoles (PS4/X1).

sRGB colour space coverage is very similar (90% U2414) and the Asus uses LED PWM Dimming which ruins motion clarity and makes some people suffer from health issues like headaches and/or eyestrain:

Only the new 25" IPS panels and some 27" HP (Acer G257HL, overpriced Asus I can't remember and the HP 25-27 CW/XW/VX) monitors offer higher sRGB colour space coverage on par with the 24" 1200p and 27" 1440p options.

Does the U2414h also have PWM? frown.gif

Thanks. Damn.

Any suggestions for a somewhat cheap monitor that's around 90% srgb and also not PWM?

I really want nice colors since I'm using my old 2333HD TN monitor.

Would you happen to know if the G257HL Acer is NOT a PWM?

Would you recommend this Acer over the Asus?

Would you also happen to know if the Acer G257HL's HDMI port has HDCP?

Just so I'm understanding this correctly, did you mean that the Acer G257HL has about 99% sRGB about similar to the U2415 and/or U2715? I'd appreciate some sources, please.

The Acer G275HL and HP 25XW are PWM free, and cost around 160$ in the US. Both can cover around 96% before calibration, and 97% of the sRGB colour space after calibration, but the Acer G257HL has inferior colour presets, more overshoot ghosting and is matte, but is better than the rest of the matte 1080p IPS/PLS options. Both support HDCP; finding a monitor without HDCP is a challenge.

btw, where were you able to get the 96-97% sRGB figures of the Acer G257HL?

Yes, same result for both, but the Acer suffers from a minor preset blue tint and slightly skewed gamma while the HP 25XW is nearly perfect. I'm not allowed to link to my reviews here and I haven't started my G257HL review, but my HP 25XW & HP 27CW review can be Googled.
