I have 43in 4K and 1080p 144 . I use the 4K for desktop and single player games and the 1080 for multiplayer fps. Single player 60hz is fine but multiplayer 144 all they way.

As long as you got the Daddy Dollas to game on 4k. I would say go for it. My buddy has 3 980Ti's aaaaaaaand Dying Light is amazing on 4k. I thought I was never going to leave his dungeon lol.

But I came home to a happy 1440p, which is perfectly fine with me smile.gif

TBH I regret selling my 1440 144hz monitor, that was a good middle ground for me. 4k is epic tbh but the price point is not worth it.

I love my Samsung 1080pTV and even in gaming mode it is not comperable to a monitor hence for me I always game on a monitor.

At first I noticed a big difference from my Gsync monitor. Now it feels good. I can weave in and out of traffic in GTA:V for instance without wrecking into everything. At first I was hitting everything. I'm able to play something like LFD2 competently. I think if you get a tv that has good response times and input delay then your personal timing should naturally adjust to it within a week or so.

One other thing. Part of what threw me off was the fact the tv was so much larger then my monitor. Moving from gaming on a 27" gaming monitor, to a 43" 4k TV is a system shock. Hell, I was dizzy just sitting in front of it for the first week. Luckily I quickly adjusted.

And man, this thing really fills out the the ol'computer table.

My setup just didn't look right with a little 27" monitor between those speakers.

@Chargeit have you tried to set a custom resolution (like 3840*1080) to see if you can get this: (maybe with a bit OC on the hz side too) ? Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

also is it running 120hz ? is there any motion interpolation tech ?

Custom res work. I've been able to do 3440x1440p UW on it for instance...

However, and this is a big one. I can only get it to do custom res at 30Hz. Not sure why since I was able to setup custom res on my monitor at normal refresh rates. I'm guessing it has to do with it being a TV.

I did not try oc the refresh rate of the TV while doing custom res. Maybe someone else can try that if they want to.

I was able to set this tv up for 120Hz @ 1080p. I tested Dying light out and it seemed ok. I'm not 100% sure that it was really running true 120 fps though. It looked like it was, but, I can't be sure since I didn't get too in-depth with my test.

For some reason at a res of 1080p I can't get the screen to do black bars. It works without scaling at other res, but, 1080p upscales across the whole screen and looks bad no matter my scaling settings.

Hmm too bad about the refresh.
Try windowed or something (with black image opened behind lol) for 1080p or stuff (edit: uhh actually not useful tip, misunderstood the situation maybe try to use the remote control and see how it does ).
test if the 120hz is 'real' or not with this : http://www.blurbusters.com/overclock/120hz-pc-to-tv/
