New Skylake Build - Page 3

You were right, the fans kicked in but I have a new problem now.

I downloaded steam and installed 3d mark to run some tests. Now during the physics tests the screen goes blank and I can't do anything.

Everything is running like normal but frozen. Think it may be the CPU acting up?

Did you overclock your 6600? Is it stable?
What are your temps?

No, I have not. Planning to, but not until I get this fixed. I downloaded the Corsair Link program for the cooler. I'm seeing a 1.55 vcore?

Nevermind, I downloaded HW64, it's only around 1.17v

Whoa, that 88C temperature is pretty worrisome, but I'm not sure what sensor that is.
Download hwinfo64 and reupload a screenshot.

Seems to be fine, but now it's starting to just black out the screen and do nothing, was trying to download FFXIV and Star Citizen.

Sounds like RMA the GPU time to me. I would pull the GPU and re-enable the iGPU and see how everything works.

I just downloaded FFXI and Star Citizen will be done in 30 minutes, but I did play to matches of Heart of the Storm without any problems.

I've been reading on issues of the i5 6600k, gigabyte/asus, r9 390 combo freezing here and there. Of what I've read I've only seen three solutions so far, the ASMedia USB driver, mobo or the PSU gone bad.

It only freezes when the computer is on idle, doing nothing really or web browsing.

Do you get a black screen and a message from the monitor saying "no signal"? How are you connected from GPU to monitor; HDMI, DP, DVI?

No I longer get that after updating the latest drivers.

I'm connected through DVI, now the computer just freezes, the monitor turns black and it looks like it's all still running.

I played FFXIV for about 35 minutes without any issues. Once I'm done and exit out to the desktop the computer randomly freezes.

Strange. Is there any specific action you take that causes a freeze?
